Diet ready meals are expensive. You'd do better cooking yourself, then you know what's in it. Too many additives in ready meals to be truely healthy.

I agree with others-- It's mostly chemicals and other stuff. On occasion, my husband will buy Healthy Choice dinners. On the one hand, it's cheaper for him if he wants a meal with meat in it, as I (obviously) don't eat meat. He phoned me one afternoon and asked if I could put one in the oven for him for his dinner so it would be ready by the time he got home, could eat, then go to his evening meeting(s). I read the ingredients on the box. I saw nothing "healthy" about the food. Also, none of the dinners, to the best of my knowlege, use whole grain pastas, or rice, just white. Nothing healthy about that. Although, in one of my husband's dinners there was an interesting green bean cranberry mix (it may have been apple) that he let me try (it was in a separate compartment than the meat) and we decided that once cranberries are in season, we'll try and make a healthier version with either fresh green beans, fresh home canned green beans (we don't buy canned veggies, too overprocessed and sodium laden), or frozen green beans.

I also lost weight when I eliminated the fake "foods" and went natural. It's how I've maintained weight through my six months of pregnancy (though I shoudl be walking or definately picking up my yoga again).

With cooking the meals yourself, you have control over cost and nutrition.

Lean Cuisine is pretty good. Just check out the carbs before you pick which ones you get.
Some are extremely high in carbs...but others are good and don't have as many carbs.

Lean Pockets would be ok I guess..but once again...check the carbs.
I was eating a Cheeseburger Lean Pocket pretty much everyday for lunch..and one day I read how many carbs it had...I think about 50-ish...
I haven't had a Lean Pocket since.

But I'm sure that they're are ones with less...or if you eat them only once in awhiel it should be fine.

Good luck!

They are not the best things to eat. Mainly because of the preservatives. Fresh food is better. Try lean meats, fruit, veggies. Just because the name of the food has the word "Lean" in it doesn't mean it's healthy. It just means that the Lean pocket is healthier than the normal Hot Pocket. Look at the calories and fats in each food.

I ate them both frequently while I was on weight watchers. I like them for lunch and then would cook a decent dinner. Just make sure to follow the cooking directions accurately -- some are different and if ignored can make for a very unpleasant dining experience! haha!

good luck -- if you're intrested in weight watchers, there are point values on both products - you just have to hunt for them!

ps - in my area (the midwest) - they are cheapest at Target and Wal-Mart, but Target usually has a better selection and is only pennies more!

Yes, the lean pockets are lower in calories and in fat compared to the regular hot pockets. And Lean Cuisine dinners are lower in calories, fat, and sodium compared to the normal tv dinners like hungryman and stofers brands.

Yes, both are fine. A bit high in sodium, but generally very good choices as opposed to 'regular' frozen foods.

I like both of the products you mention. They are good choices for a balanced diet while losing weight.

They're both processed chemical crap "foods".

Why not eat some real food?
