I think you are covering all of your bases. I love the internet, but some employers don't alway post on the internet job sites and just post on their individual websites. So find a company you are interested in and check it out!

Well, it depends on what kind of job you are looking for. It looks like you are hitting the main sources. But not all jobs are advertised. Think about what you are looking for and make sure you have a resume and cover letter ready. The just head out and go to places you are interested. Ask for an application and hand them your resume with the completed application. If they don't have an application available, just give them your resume and cover letter. Then, don't just sit around waiting for someone to call you. Pick up the phone and call them back. Or better yet, go and follow up in person. This will show that you really do want to work. Also, make sure you have answers ready to common interview questions, so you don't appear too nervous when you do get that interview.

At the company where you want to work.
I am a contractor working with database systems and every one or two years I have to find another job. I dont let them find and pick me, I pick them. Which means I call the HR department or systems manager and tell them that I am available. When letting them know what I have to offer, they will very quickly let me know if they are interested or not.
Also I have called companies and asked for informational interviews. This is where I sit down with an HR manager and ask them why I would want to work for them. That is exactly how I got my present position with a bank.

You don't say what kind of job you are looking for.
Some people approach job hunting like a handout.
You need to identify what skills you can offer.
Then you can determine where those skills might be needed.
What have you done before? What's your education?
People hire someone to solve their problems,
they're not looking out for your needs.
Most successful job-hunts come from net-working.
Find out where others are working & ask about openings.

internet is so impersonal, newspaper is a good start and places like monster only get thousands of repsonses making it harder to land a job...
try making cold calls *getting a companies number and ask if they are hiring* or just applying in person
They will be able to see your personality a bit and it will set you apart from the rest that have faxed, and emailed their resumes.....
