I need to buy some jumper cables for my SUV in case of emergency. Does anyone have any tips on buying these or a brand that is better than others? I want the best quality I can find. Thanks for any tips yall can share with me!!!

i just bought my boyfriend the black and decker battery charger/jumper cable...its pretty awesome. Its about 40 bucks at wal mart...this way you can get a jump w/out another car

Look for good strong clamps on the ends of the cables. Look at what size wire is being used. The bigger the wire, the more current it will carry. Also, look for length of cable. That will save you from having to have the cars so close together. Plus you never know when you'll be pulled in to a parking spot and not be able to get a car close enough for a short set of jumpers.

I used some old welding cables, with 4/0 wiring and bought the cable clamps seperate. Does a wonderful job. good luck.

A self jumper is better, usually. But if you want a jumper cable, brand does not matter, the thicker the cables the better.

brand doesnt really matter. buy cables based on guage (thickness). the thicker the better.

I wouldnt buy cables.....buy one of those self jump packs...they are about 60-80 bucks...work great

really in my opinion there isn't a really bad brand to buy, check out sears or walmart
