how do i get a job working for the city?

im trying to get a job street sweeping or something along that line thanks

Call your local Chamber of Commerce, or if there's a city website, there's usually an employment or job link.

I don't know if you are in the US, but most cities have an "Office of Employment" or "Office of Workforce Development". It may be called something slightly different in your city.
