since we cant spot reduce body fat it just has to be overall fat loss
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Ok here is what I have done..... I know that the Weight Watchers thing may sound crazy but it really works. But don't buy into the craze. I just started drinking diet drinks, I know it was hard but I did it. I bought water and put the flavors in it you can get them at Super walmart and I love the hawaiian punch, take 100 cal. snacks they are good. Try to eat smaller portion of food. Cut back on eating hamburger it is really bad for you. I eat a lot of turkey and mustard sand. for lunch and 100 cal. pack of chips. I would eat whatever I fixed for dinner for the family I just didn't eat a big plate full. I have lost 28 pounds since last Aug. and I feel great. I will be glad to help anyway I can. GOOD LUCK!!

Ok first off, dont DIET!, you gain more weight from dieting than you do bing eating, if you want to lose weight then its a long process, there is no quick easy way (i know this and have accepted it and im losing weight), if you want to lose weight on the lower half then exercise that part, cycling will be the best form for that, if not running. for the eating part, eat fruit and vegetables, and here is the best tip for losing weight, when your eating, dont watch TV, sit there at the table on your own and take a mouth full and put your fork and knife down, and just eat it, take your time. because when you get full your brain will tell you, and you will be able to hear this signle, but if your watching tv and eating fast you will miss it and over eat. dont feel bad if you leave half your dinner.

The best thing you can do is excerise 3 - 5 times a week for 30 minutes. Start out by walking - you can go window shopping or whatever - just don't eat while you do it! Be sure to drink a full glass of water before each meal. It will help you feel full faster. Don't eat within 3 hours of going to bed. That food will go directly to your middle! Also, eat breakfast if you don't already. It will keep you from gorging at lunch. Oh, and the previous answer about not watching TV while you eat is absolutely true - your brain will tell you when you're full, but not if you're distracted. When you eat, just think about eating and listen to what your body is telling you. If you have someone in your house who is encouraging you to clean your plate, see if you can somehow get smaller portions.

If you watch what you eat and have a WELL balanced daily diet, then incorporating exercise into your daily routine is probably your best way. You can look up online what exercises are best for the areas you want to lose weight that way you are not wasting time doing exercises that wont help you out.

This is what I do and It works in a pinch. When I have a big event coming up, I walk/run 5 days a week, cut out very salty foods, and drink a lot of water. I don't do strenuous cardio or biking, as that tends to really drive up my metobolism and I want to eat everything. I still have coffee in the morn, but w/out sugar or sugar substitute. I still eat candy, but mostly hard candy. Salt is awful because it makes you retain water. You must do the workout/ eat better combo. Replace the chips, popcorn, etc that you would normallly eat with fruit..

that's it!

To successfully lose weight, you must carry out
a plan to balance your caloric intake with exercise.
Ideally, dieting should be done by eating a nutritionally
balanced, low-calorie diet and increasing physical activity.
