It's accurate, durable, and dependable. I've never had a malfunction after 500 rounds of various ammo types. The only thing I do not like about is the magazine disconnect safety. It's not a reason to pass the gun up, I just don't like lawyers dictating how we make our guns here in America. All-in-all, the P345 is a great gun. It's had huge sells since introduced and has won numerous awards.

Rock Island Armory makes a number of different 1911 style pistols and you didn't mention a particular one. The samples I've seen and shot were very decent examples of the 1911. The Ruger would not be my pick. My reason's are mostly personal preference but I've also experienced only adequate accuracy with Ruger center fire auto pistols. The big thing is the trigger. The single action trigger of a 1911 style pistol is a real consideration. While they are a great aid in accuracy, they can also easily be fired by accident under the stress of an armed confrontation. Unless you are very familiar with the 1911 format, I wouldn't recommend one for a first defensive pistol. But they are great for target shooting or just plinking for almost anybody. Many serious defensive shooters prefer the 1911 and with good reason. But unless you're going to put in the range time and get professional instruction, I would not suggest the 1911 as a defensive pistol. Good luck

A good and durable .45 carry pistol!
Light weight and small enough to easily conceal.
Inexpensive and reliable!
My only argument with this piece is the single stack mag....I personally would want a higher capacity mag, but that's just me!
Ruger still produces the best weapons for the money than any other company!
I don't think you can go wrong with it if it fits your needs!

Great gun!!!!!!!Its what I chose when buying my handgun and have not been dissapointed. I've put about 1200 rounds through mine without a single jam or misfire with different tpes of ammunition. It shoots accurate and is easy to get on target. Recoil isnt bad either.

Dependable and functional. 45 is also a good caliber for it; one shot will do the job. I can't think of a thing to whine about in regards to it.
