"God came to my house and I killed him."

In the book, "House," by Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker, a man claims this. If someone said this to you, how would you react?

I'd reply, "That's funny. I thought the Romans did that."

Frank Peretti is a very good fiction/allegorical writer.
I'm quite sure there is more to the story than this particular line.
I would have to ask more questions to determine what this person means by that statement.

well, I'd smile and start to back away really slowly. Because that person is probably a tad unbalanced.
By the way, Showdown by ted Dekker is better than House, you should read it if you haven't.
I'm a Christian.

FSMist. I would tell that person that the Flying Spaghetti Monster cannot be killed. He cannot be seen by humans, which proves his omnipotence, so there would not even be a visible target at which to aim. I would further explain that all humans are sinners and that only by accepting the FSM as king can they be saved from the clutches of the Purple People Eater.

I have not read that book and I am a Christian. I would have to say yes, all of us, all mankind killed Him and He willfully sacrificed His life for us.

God came to the earth as the man Jesus, lived, died and was resurrected for you and me to take our place for our sins even though He had never sinned. This is love.

Atheist, and I'd probably call the cops in case the guy was psychotic and literally killed somebody with a god-complex.

When I worked at the Fire Dept. we received a call from a man who said he was battling 7 demons in his house, and that he killed one with a shovel, and needed help defeating the rest.

We subdued him and gave him to the Medics

You contact law enforcement and ask them to do a "Safety and Welfare Check" on the person. If he spouts the same thing to the cops they will take him in for psych evaluatiuon. Maybe get him some help.

Atheist.

I would either say "hmmm, that's interesting" or nothing at all and then simply continue on my way. FYI, god is a nonsense word used to explain away the things we can't yet understand.

Christian. I've read "House" and you missed the point. The book is about the deceptive nature of sin and it's consequences. Read it again.

I would say, you can't kill God. But whoever you did kill, you just commited a homicide. And I hope he forgives you. I'd spread the word of our Lord. I'm a Christian.
