I hasn't happened to me but I'm very new. I would find it disturbing, since I strive to be courteous in all my responses,so the only basis for a block would be that someone simply doesn't like my views - and I believe in a free exchange of opinions. I wouldn't consider that a valid reason. However I see on other people's answers that there are individuals who will dog someone relentlessly with offensive, rude or insulting "answers". I think the block system occured out of need. The really difficult part however is when an entire account is set to private. I don't like operating in real time ( see my current posting); I prefer to log on and check favorites for their recent questions and select some to answer. However,if they've been having problems and are set to private I can't check their recent questions. This is kind of a disaster - and perhaps unneeded - for those of us who prefer answering contact's questions instead of scroll questions. I approve of the block system - but not letting entire accounts be set to private. If someone has blocked you, fine. But set-to-private for all is oppressive to all. You are on my contacts; I wouldn't have even seen this question without access to your recent postings. I wasn't logged on when it scrolled.

I really do feel sorry for them! But I also feel it's an honor to get a thumbs down or be blocked by an atheist, agnostic, etc.
I think it shows the person blocking me is afraid of my answers. People block people who disagree with them so they don't have to be confronted by their conscience.

I just think it shows the person blocking you is afraid of your answers. They block people who disagree so they don't have to confront veiws that would shake their faith.

Still me, not hiding my identity, but I hardly ever use it...
