First off, I'm not an atheist, I was born & raised Christian, but now I have gone a different path.

There is alot of high & mighty, we're better than you, you are going to hell mentality & I've read it mostly from the one's that call themselves Christians.

When Jesus died on the cross did he not say, "forgive them father for they know not what they do"? If you are strong & unmovable in your faith, there would not be a harsh word coming from you. If your faith is that strong, then pray for those you feel have gone wayward.

I can see why Christianity is under so much attack. Modern christians do not represent God in any way, fashion, or form.

I know I'm generalizing, but everything is a generalization esp since I can't possibly know everyone on this board.

Sorry about that! I know that there are a lot of geniune Christians out there, including myself, who cringe when they hear comments like this because we do not want to come across that way. My goal in life is to influence the type of people you are talking about and turn the generalizations about christians around for the better. God Bless.

Speaking the truth in love -if that is hypocritical to you, I am SO sorry. However one thing I will agree with you about- if we speak truth in a way that makes us feel that we are better, than I ask you for forgiveness- we are no better, just saved by the blood of Jesus. We are to become more like Him- and humility is a characteristic that every born again believer needs to live out 24/7. Christians are always under attack- Christ Himself said we would be- if we speak truth-It is ok by me if I am attacked for presenting Jesus well, however if I am being "attacked" because I misrepresent Him, same on me. If Christians were really misrepresenting Him, I don't think there would be attacks though- people get more upset when truth is shown, then fiction.

Aren't you doing exactly what you are accusing us of doing? Are you not generalizing and speaking bad of good people with good intentions? I am a Christian and don't attack anyone and I don't believe in hell either.

Christians should lead by Christ's example so that people will see Christ through them.

No harsh words here.....just truth.

If the world perceives my truth-telling as judgment, then that's their problem.

If I were to tell you that people without Christ are going to heaven, then THAT would be hypocritical and a flat out lie on my part.

You have forgotten that God is Dead.

Just out of curiosity what religion do you now follow?

If being truthful is hypocritical and judgemental, then I guess you're right. No apologies here.
