I am only 16 right now so I know I have time. But I am seriously considering joining the military. But I'm still a little scared. It won't stop me. But that still leaves me with another problem. I don't know what to join. So, if you would be so kind as to list your opinion, with a detailed explantion as to why. And it would also be most helpful if you could list salary, duties, rankings, danger factor, deployment rates and othe important information. That would be good. Please and thank you.

Are you sure you're 16 and not a recruiter? If not, who told you about deployment rates, danger factors etc. If you are 16 and are asking these questions you have the intelligence to know what branch of service you will join by researching the various branches. Again, if you are 16 and you are asking these questions because you are intelligent, then maybe you should try the Navy.
P.S. I am not a recruiter, but I was in the Navy.

Well in the Amry and Marines your choices are serverly limited as women are not allowed combat positions, or at least front lines anyway. And out of the branches I'd say those 2 have the highest danger level. The Navy and Air Force are almost the same as much of our navy is carrier focused. If you ask me, being a pilot would be badass, and if your into that you have to ask yourself if you want to be surrounded by men, on a ship, for a good period of time. And Coast Guard is the lax navy, but they do get to do more stuff as wars don't happen everyday.

It depends on what you want out of it. I mean, the navy or the coast guard if you are into the ocean, or ships. The navy also of course has more aircraft, but you face deployments of 6 months whihc often extend to a year at sea. The coast guard pays much better and you rarely deploy to a combat zone. The army offers more vehicle mechanical options as well as infantry and some aircraft like the apache helicopter which needs major maintenance crews as well as an almost iron clad guarantee of deployment to combat.. The marines almost guarantee deployment to combat, with a wide variety of special skills and vehicles.
In the end, it boils down to what you really want as far as schooling and long term career.
Good luck

The Airforce. I could talk about the reasoning all day.
-My Grandfather, who was part of the Army, said join the Airforce because you always have a dry bed to sleep on.
-My brother has been in the military, part of the Airforce, for 16 years, and has never had to go over seas.
-If you go to college to become an officer (highly advisable) you will be able to fly planes.
-My 2 cousins are in the Marine Corps, and they have been to Iraq on the front lines. I can tell they are a little messed up from it.

I entered the marines just because i knew i what i was getting into the war etc..
the marines are not for the women who have to second guess themselves about danger. not to say that women cant be marines but it takes a special sort of women to be a marine.
dont go into the army. the women and army just dont mix. alot of crybaby men in there dont want to promote women.
navy is ok for women especially the technical part. have met many women in there and they love the attention of all the sailors. especially when the men outnumber the women 10 to 1 on ships.
the airforce has all the smart women and they are very good about promoting women now because they do not want a bad image and the risk factor is very small.
the coastguard is pretty cool if you like to stay local. its kind of like the navy but local mostly in the us and friendly ports.
but if you do have what it takes go for it all and join the marines. never will you ever be afraid of anything again.

United States Coast Guard. They have the greatest history of promotion for women in the service. Granted, you need to work hard for it, but it's well worth it. They have a wide-range of duties, from ship-based, to land-based, from desk-driving to manning lighthouses, to rescuing sailers, etc, etc. While it may not see the most combat out there, there is still a bit of danger to what they do.

I was a female who was in the Air Force. It was fine for a while but I was Security Forces so it got old. So I would say all branches have their ups and downs. I would worry about what carreer you pick not which branch!
