I havent really heard of the state giving you money for junked cars. But, in my state you can call any junk yard and they will come tow it and give you like $50 for it. Or you could donate it and get a tax write off.

If you want to sell your car for scrap there are plenty of junk yards who will take your car. Expect to get about $200 for it if there are any salvageable parts available.

This is not a function of the State government, it is private enterprise that runs scrap metal recycling centers.

Money back for what? Taxes? Usually the taxes are due to whoever owns the car on a certain date. In KY it is on Jan. 1st. good luck.
