I have always loved Pieter Brueghel, Hunters in the Snow (1565). If you are unfamiliar with the painting it depicts a group of hunters and their dogs returning to their village after a day in the field. It is a winter scene, and like so many of Brueghel's works, the background is alive with activity. Their are people working next to a fire to the left of the hunters and down below people are busy skating and playing on the ice. Houses and a village and farms stretch off into the distance.
Unlike many works of this period, but typical of Brueghel, it is a celebration of everyday life that, one should recall, was probanly not that great in the 16th century. I would like to live in this painting because despite what I know about this period in history, this particular scene evokes a certain warmth and serenity.

I would choose one of the wonderful idylic scenes in many of the paintings by Louise Dandurand or Catherine Perdreau, both from Quebec.

thats a really cool question. i honestly cant think of a particular painting. but i would pick one that was drawn with my family in it, like the fingerpaintings you do at school when you're little.
and it would just have alot of beautiful scenery.
and a beach, with wild horses running on it.
i really like this quesiton. ever seen the movie What Dreams May Come?

i dunno, there are so many really wonderful paintings...i did live in the painting by Norman Rockwell, called the Runaway, a boy in a cafe talking to a cop, with his bundle on a stick behind him...i even had a yellow shirt like that one.
the movie with robin williams called "what dreams may come" comes to mind with this wonderful question.
love the cats, by the way.
