or is it just reading out of context?

For all of the people that keep citing The Skeptics Annotated Bible as your source, what about the part that are Christians responses to the alledged contradictions on the same cite.

Do you feel like it is a waste of your time to read those as well, or do you actually see what they have to say.

Here is the cite to where you can read all of the responses. One of the cites has been responding to the so called contradictions for like 6 or 7 years.

There are no contridictions to God's written Word. There are reasons, some that we can't completely understand yet, as to why there appears to be. For those who have God's Spirit teaching them, they will understand. For those who don't, they never will.

Many did not understand God's Word in the flesh Jesus, either. When reading the Bible it is important to find out who, what, why, where and when.

The Bible is God's written Word to us.
It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.

“Above all you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:20-21. (New International Version)

Yes and yes.

A lot of SAB 'contradictions' are nit-picking and I believe that including these, while making for an impressive list detracts form the others.

The more serious contradictions - what did Jesus say when he died, who turned up to the tomb etc. are answered, but in a very weak form. Different people heard different things (from the voice of a man who could be clearly heard by a crown of 5000, and two versions are cried out in a loud voice)

Others answers carefully place events in certain order to be consistent, but that means that the writers are skipping some major events where they should have been present while they record minor details elsewhere.

Care to try to explain why Luke says he saw Jesus the day after he was buried, along with eleven disciples, but this event is not important enough for Matthew Mark or John to mention.

Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 contradict each other on page one. Somehow the creation happened in two different orders and it didn't occur to early writers of this fiction that such a gross contradiction would set the mood for the entire book.

Yes there are. For example, there are two conflicting creation stories mentioned in the Bible.

In Genesis 1:25-27 it states that humans were created after the other animals.

However, in Genesis 2:18-19 it states that humans were created before the other animals.

These two stories make perfect sense to any person with a deluded mind. However, any normal person can see that these two stories in the bible conflict each other.

One I mentioned in another answer
Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Genesis2:21-23
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

So did God create Man and Women at the same time or did God create woman later or was the first women Lilith and the second one Eve?

There are two recountings of the whole original creation with different timing and order of events if you read chapter 1 and 2
It goes on from there.

Many of the conflicts in the bible are translation errors (Hebrew being a language that does not translate over to something like Greek without many errors).
In addition the fact that it has been changed so many times over the years to reflect the beliefs/goals of variouse people and groups and has little to do with Christ original teachings creates many contridictions.

There are no Bible contradictions, there are only passages which "seem" to be contradictions to some people either because they are unaware of the context, the language may be difficult, they are not considering some other information, or they may not readily understand what's in view. Some people point to these as proof that the bible is of men, because of the obvious contradictions. But the opposite is true. If it was of men, the (seeming) obvious contradictions would have been corrected long ago. But they weren't corrected because they aren't contradictions. The Bible testifies of itself that it is the divinely inspired Word of God.

Theists love to play the 'out of context' card. But only when it suits them. For example the owning of slaves is not to be taken literally because it was written in the context of the times. Yet other things, such as women subjugating themselves to their husbands is perfectly acceptable. They are just ridiculous in both their beliefs and their stupid interpretations of a dusty old book of myths.

There can never be any contradictions to the words spoken by God.It is just that our intelligence is limited that we cannot understand what he is saying.
