I had a dream that I was naked with shoes on walking down the street and once I realized that I had nothing on, I ran back home. but the funny thing about it was, I couldn't get home, no matter how fast I ran.

Being "naked" represents being exposed. There are things about you that you like to keep hidden but now they are exposed where everybody can see it. The reason you run back home is because home is the place where you feel comfort and can hide. But see you never find your way home, you are totally exposed without and remedy.

can't get home no matter how fast you ran = losing control
Being naked could mean a couple of things. But in your case, it looks like you have low self esteem and perhaps in your social life you feel disrespected. Having yourself dreamed of not able to get home means losing control. In other words, you have some shame in your subconscious mind. You feel bad about it and can't overcome obstacles you have.

I think everyone has dreams like that at one time or another remember your worst fears and your best wishes appear in your dreams . Used to have reoccuring dreams of being naked and not realising it till I was in the class room at school. No worries dreams finally go away.

Quite common, infantile, juvenile and also adults have these dreams. The unconsious is attempting to invovle You in possible scenarios that may be in past/or future experiences. By your reactions in the dream/reality state of mind you can get an idea of " how you'll react in life" itself. So this is a possible test For You! I've had dreams like that, I'm naked in my school or office and trying to sneak around to get out without people noticing. Wonder if it means anything.

being naked in public usually indicates that you are worried about something, possibly an event.
not being able make it home no matter how fast you run could indicate that you are stilling trying to figure out how to handle the problem/ situation.

once i dreamed i was running around the school totally naked. No one could catch me b/c i was running so fast.

Usually when someone has a dream and they are undressed, it refers to something being revealed in their life. A lot of times we think we are hiding our faults, but someone always can see through the deception.
