Purity Balls are particularly creepy. I've never wanted to date my dad, thanks. Nor do I want him having any opinion on my sex life, or lack thereof. I will, of course, return the favor and not have any opinion on his.
And I fail to see why inexperience is so special. As long as a girl is cautious and careful, sex is liberating, fun and very educational. Knowing what you want and like makes it easy to be satisfied with the person you do eventually choose to spend your life with.
And there still isn't a push to have males remain "pure." So I can only conclude this is a push back against women's sexual liberation. Well, I have no desire to go back to being breeding stock. Thanks!

actually, the kind of father that loves his daughter and only wants whats best for her. My daughter wears her "purity" ring with pride. She has a brain, has plans for her future and isn't willing to throw that away for a fling.
In addition, I agree that most "young marriages" as you put it, don't last. That's because most younger people rush into a marriage without really understanding what it really means, and without giving the relationship time to grow strong. As far as religion not recognizing this fact, you should research further. Most religions do have basic guidelines for marriage, and most "pastors" require counseling prior to performing a marriage ceremony. If I haven't helped answer your question, perhaps you should clarify it and re ask it another way.
Good luck

It's an attempt to follow religious laws of being a virgin when you marry, but at the same time, young kids are horny. So, they pledge not to have sex, then have a ton of oral sex because they don't think it qualifies, then they get married young so they can have a ton of sex.
Hence the high divorce rate in America.

I think a physical reminder of a girl's pledge to remain chaste is a great thing. If I had a girl I'd probably do something like that.
"Why do so few religions recognize this?"
What do religions have to do with it? People get married when they want to.
"I would like to be able to understand the logic behind all this."
The logic is that fornication is sin and helping someone avoid this is the right thing to do.

nothing wrong with waiting until marriage, but the problem is many young people rush into marriage because they want to have sex. no, that's not the only reason they get married, but it certainly plays a big role in it.
my best friend wanted to wait til she was in love for sex. i thought she meant married, but no, she just wanted to be in love. it took her 33 years to find that right guy with whom she recently fell in love with.
guess what religion she is????

...personally, i don't see a problem. i think it's a good thing that they are so passionate about their virginity and will tell the world. rings i guess are tokens and to strive on that one goal... it may not be just for virginity but for other simple things as well.
my grandma got married at 18 and stayed married until my grandpa died.it may not work of some; but may for others. it just depends on their conpatability.

It is kind of creepy to me. I mean, we are not chattel to be sold to the highest bidder, you know? Women are not property of their fathers to be passed on as property to their husbands.
And I know, personally, I won't even buy a pair of shoes that I haven't tried on first!

Not sure.
But this one Christian girl I like a lot, I was sure she was going to show me a bed sheet with a hole in it and tell them that's what we'll use when it's time to make babies, until them we'll sleep in separate rooms.
I still want to marry that girl, too!

Different religions and country have different traditions they follow. It's as simple as that. We can't understand them all but should respect them.
