A lot of people have loved each other but have had to break it off because there are other factors making the relationship impossible. You will get over that person, but like everything else in life it takes time.

I love someone who moved more than a thousand miles away. What hurts is that he feels the same way. He had to move because his mother has become deathly ill. I would have moved, but there isn't anything out there for me ... career-wise. I hope I will see him again...i know I will but it won't be for a long time. In that much time, things change. Hopefully for the good, and not the bad. Love hurts in so many ways, but in many more ways it's the best feeling in the world. Right now it hurts. It's like I'm reaching out to hold on to him and he keeps getting further and further away from me. We keep in touch, but part of me knows that's not enough. He'll find someone else, and she'll make him just as happy and he'll forget all about me. It's usually how things end up for me. I have the worst luck when it comes to love.

I think you should give it a try, long distance relationships can work out if the bond is strong. it'll be hard at first cuz you'll be use to that person always being around, but then you'll get used to it because you will have each others support which is very important. You'll need each other more than ever and you'll have to deal with the sacrifices you'll have to make for each other. sometimes the sacrfice can be a short conversation because the other person has to do homework or work in general, but knowing that that person wants to speak to you and be with you should be glue enough to keep you going.
Good Luck

Love can indeed be a curse, especially when you have a forced separation. It's almost like a death. In this case, if you have no options and no hope of getting back together now or in the future, your only option is to go into the zero contact mode and let time work its magic. You'll always love him but in time, it won't hurt. Promise.

That depends on who it is that you love and what context the love you have for that person is in. You dont mention whether its a family member, a lover, a good friend.
When you say "departing"- in what way? Are they going to die? Travel for a long period? Or just separating for a while?
Some love is unconditional other types of love are conditional, so it depends on how serious your feelings are for that person and how they have reciprocated this back in the time you have known them.

You never stop loving them if you truly love them. I have a guy who is now my friend. We can't be together, so I'd rather still have him in my life as a friend rather than nothing at all. And though it hurts us sometimes to think of each other in the arms of others. We'd rather see each other happy because we truly love one another.
And I don't feel curse because we can't be together, I feel blessed because I got the opportunity to have him in my life no matter how it may be.

that sounds really hard and i have sympathy for you. I'm not sure it does stop becuase i am dealing with the same thing, but you can get through it and evenutally you'll move and on and find someone else. Don't worry, it'll be okay.

If its out of my hands...I make a clean cut and move on! Life is way to short to dwell on the past.
