Yeah its a very complicated law and will vary greatley depeding on where you live.

Each state, and even somtimes cities will have different laws on if its legal or not, and what kind of penatly is involved if it is.

You just have to double check with local park authority to make sure. Its probably about 30% of time you can, and 70% of the time you cant. Most of the time you would never get arrested or even fined though. They would just make you dump it out.

Just for example, im my state of Ct they have no specific law against drinking in parks. But i know in NY state they frequently ticket people for open container in public places such as parks.

It really depends on what the ordinances are where you live. I lived in the midwest where it was fine to drink beer in a public park. Here in CA supposedly it's against the law (public intox). However, unless you're causing a ruckus and someone calls the cops, they don't go looking for it.

Not here in Kentucky...If you drink in a cup and not let no one else see it you can get by with it...But the cell phones anymore will call in on you and get your lic. plate # and call the 911 let them know that you pour beer out on the road...Or if you pour pop etc. out on the road you will get fine for it..And here they charge you for every can that they find in your vehicle as an open container rather if you drink it or not and it's a 100.00 for every can that's in your vehicle...Now they have pass the law here a sober driver, is driving someone and they are drinking they will get the driver for DUI plus every can that's in your vehicle and the passenger for public intoxication....

Not in the province of Ontario, Canada.

Unless it was purchased on-site at a "patio" that was licensed by the LCBO (liquor control board of ontario)

It not only depends on what state you're in, it depends on what city or town you're in. They have their own local ordinances
