Thanks to HGTV I love the loud mix of colors. My home has dark plum purple on one side and a burnt orange/honey mustard on the opposite side. Everyone is shocked and then say wow that looks great, would never have thought to put those colors together. Bedroom will be wine and possibly a pale military green.

When we redecorated my teenage sons bedroom, he wanted his "theme" to be tye dyed... Well. it is... the actual walls are tyedyed. He choise a bright blue for the walls and then we preceeded to "tyedye" the walls with spray paint. All the colors of the rainbow. We "tyedyed" the border, the corners and fistures and light switches... It's looks SOOOO GROOVY!

Good for you! I get so tired of seeing people live in houses painted bland beige tones -- it all looks like primer to me! My family has a lot of artists in in and we have always used beautiful colors and painted murals in our homes. I love rich tones -- my living room is deep terracotta on 2 walls and teal-turquoise on the other two, the adjacent kitchen is the color of a spanish olive with terracotta and tomato red accents -- all of the colors are of the same intensity and coordinate well with each other. Scientific studies have established that the colors around you can have a strong effect on your mood -- warm, rich colors can lift your spirits. It's the cheapest and simplest way to have a happy house.

i don't know if these colors r wacky but they r bright esp when someone c's them.

blue & green sponged stripes on a lt blue negative sponged wall & opposite wall oppsite colors... on lt green negative sponged wall then other 2 walls have blue/green sponging w/ 1 wall a live window & the other muraled on. But this is only painted 3/4 up w/ border of french words then translated in english. the the rest is lt sheer purple.

is that wacky? :-)

My house is painted with Deep red and golds in the dinning room, Cappuccinos colors in the living room with a faux finish on one wall, and the ceiling is a little lighter shade. oh and I textured it first! Shades of Green in master bedroom and bath, ummm and an assortment of greens and beige's in the kitchen..I love color too!!
the most fun room is my sons. I let him have spray paint! he painted graffiti all over it is pretty neat! I figure I can always paint over it later when he gets sick of it!
I always say to my friends..It is only paint have fun with it and if you hate it paint over it!!!

I personally have muted colors in my home, but recently went to an open house that was painted lime & tangerine. Looked *amazing*.

I don't do whacky colors but my mom had the knack a way back. She painted her house brown with turquoise trim, a real eye catcher!
