Because someone has drilled it in your head for your lifetime that this man made book is the "word" of God?

Does it really make sense that a supreme being would flood the whole earth because we misbehaved?

Please use the brain that God gave you. I would be offended if someone thought I was capable of murder.

Yes, it doesn't make any sense. Remember, God created those misbehaving sinners, and that created the situation and the cause. A star for you!

The bible is supported historically and logically. Why do you believe in any type of historical literature? We belive in historical literature becuase it has been excepted from generation to generation as truth due to the fact that it was never refuted by eye witnesses of the day. The bible was supported by eye witnesses of the day. Why don't we have any literature from the same time period refuting the bible. You would think that all who didn't believe in the miracles of Jesus or the writings of Moses would be throwing their hands up in the air and disputing the words in the bible, but we don't see that anywhere because there was no support to dispute the bible. It has survived scrutiny for centuries and is the best selling book in the history of the world. Why would you belive anything else? Great question. . . hope this helps!

People didn't believe Noah when he informed them that the flood was coming. They though he was crazy and that God couldn't do such a thing. This is what happens when people doubt God. They forget that He has ALL power in his hands. God also made a promise that there would never be another flood to destroy man again.

God is God and we are not. The people at the time of Noah was told that they would be destroyed, they had a chance to change their ways. For those many, many years that it took Noah to build the ark, they had a chance to repent- they chose not too- so God, in His justice did this- but remember He sent a rainbow to remind us that He would never flood, THE WHOLE EARTH again- that is why He sent Jesus- because He knew that He would have to keep destroying the earth, because we keep sinning. ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF HIS GLORY- I am so thankful that God , in His mercy has not destroyed us again, and that He loved us enough, to send His Son so we will have eternal life with Him.

Well, all the "drilling" is my own. As for believing there was a flood. That is part of the winnowing process.

1 Corinthians 2:14
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Matthew 11:25
Jesus prayed, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes."

I don't believe in it because I know the Kings and bishops met in 325 AD in Nicea and tossed what they disagreed with and censored what was left. It is no more the inspired word of God now than my writings here.

I love it when people ask this question, because it overjoys me when I get 2 POINST!!! THANKS.

I was raised in church, but I made the decision myself. My parents had enough courtesy and respect to allow me to do that.

I don't question God's actions. I just follow His word. I didn't live back then and i am sure if it was just a little misbehaving then it wouldn't of happened.

I believe it because I have read it. It has shown itself to be a complete and harmonious revelation of God to man.
Accuracy, and 100% prophetic fulfillment.
What other book is inspired, truly inspired by God?

Everyone is affected by sin even the Christian. Everyone is also affected by God. Christian or non christian. Not everything is nessicarly to punish us but where does everyone turn to when these disasters happen. To God...to the church after 9-11 the church attendence rose like crazy. God wants to get your attention and he will go there to get it. Hell is hot...eternal life in a never ending nightmare? thats why God is trying to get your attention. I believe in the word because it shows itself to be true. If i have a problem believing something in the bible. I pray and ask God to show his truth in that. Always worked for me.

Why do you believe that the earth is round? Why do you believe that we have global warming? Why do you believe that what the universe looks like?

People believe what they desire to believe. The earth is round because , yes we can prove it. People believe in global warming because they believe the scientist who have stated it. People believe the pictures of what the milky way looks like because that is what they have decided to believe ( as far as i know no one has taken a camara and made a picture of our universe. better yet no one can)
