Why does an elastic have no beginning and no end?

Every thing has a beginning and an end, except a Mobis Strip which has only one side and one edge, but that is another story. I am guessing you are from the other side of the pond and are referring to a rubber band as we call them over here. I would guess that they are made in a long tube that does have a beginning and an end. But when they slice off the bands they don't.
