If you know someone else is buying, what do you typically order? The most expensive item on the menu? Or do you go light?

I usually order a water as a drink. My rule: I order an item that is the same price or cheaper as the item the buyer is.

Well, I'm a steak and potato type of girl. I won't order steak and lobster but I'll order a nice New York Strip. Some people get offended if you get the cheapest thing on the menu. I guess it depends on who it is thats buying, but I'm not going to hold back and get something I wouldn't normally eat. So just try not to order the very cheapest or the most expensive foods, order in the middle somewhere. Have fun!

Something in the middle. Typically, I wait until she orders, and then I pick something of the same price or a little less. I just don't want to overreach.

When I'm buying, I usually get something on the higher end, so that she doesn't feel uncomfortable getting whatever she wants. I will tell her what I'm thinking about while she's checking over the menu, so she will see I'm getting like the filet mignon w/ lobster tail and not feel that she might be picking something pricier than me.

If someone else is paying, I'll usually order the same meal that I would have ordered even if I was paying for it. I'll usually a more expensive drink that I've never had before but wouldn't buy for myself.

I won't order the most expensive item. It's rude. I order something not too expensive.

Just order something from the median price range. If you get something to cheap, it kind of says that the person you're out with is cheap and you don't want to 'waste too much of their money'. If you spend too much then the person feels like all you want is their money. The happy medium is always a good policy

I will go light, the person is being good enough to offer me a treat so I shouldn't get greedy. I always eat an appetizer or two anyway. I can't eat all of a huge entree. Then I have room for dessert.

I stay in the same price range as the person who is paying. I never order an alcoholic beverage.
