Here is a story that happend to me last night. Its funny but its also worrying at the same time.

"I had my car broken into at the Station car park and they did a lot of damage. I was on the phone to the Police at the time, when there was a knock at the door. "Hi, Its the Police, can we come in". I thought "WOW that was quick I am still on the phone with the". But this bunch were making enquires about some house break-ins in our local area. We sat them down and gave them a coffee while I finished with the Police on the phone about my car, when there was another knock at the door. "Hi, Its the Police, can we come in". This was the Murder squad ask questions about the murder Saturday night.

In total I had 6 Police officers all drinking my coffee while I am talking to them over the phone about my car. What next? :)"

Its time way get far tougher on crime and go "Zero Tollerance" just as New York did. If we need more jails then lets build them and fill them with the scum.

jb, we need a total overhaul in this country in relation to the way we work and the whole justice system. People blame the Police for a whole host of poor service but fail to realise that the government are to blame for the way the Police service is being run.

We spend far too much time filling out forms and too little time policing the streets.

The offender has too many rights and sentences no longer reflect crimes. Until this changes and until the government wake up the public will not get the service they deserve.

As for zero tolerance....... I'm not entirely sure that would work.

I totally agree with your idea of getting tougher on crime but zero tolerance may not be the right answer as it may be too harsh for some situations. It may be a good idea to put this to your local MP.

Maybe if more people like you did that then we may be able to begin to win back the streets for the law abiding public and not give all the rights to the criminals!

Hey you have three separate crimes in your area which the police are taking an interest in. There has to be a division of responsibility and it looks as though you were on the line.
You did not have to offer them coffee but I bet they were glad to receive it.

I think the police themselves would like to have zero tolerance

The problem is a human one. The police have let knife crime get out of control and many of them, understandable are frightened to go out at night.

It is much safer in your house than hunting murderers.

I don't blame them, I feel sorry for them.

Good idea, however you now have Gordon Brown to persuade and he wants to send all our money to Scotland to ensure that he is re-elected.

it just so happens that the two different investigations ran into you. and they prolly saw the other cruisers outside so they'd figure they'd check it out.
