Since we don't believe in hell why do you think we are afraid of it? When you tell us we will be held accountable for our words, to whom are we to be held? If you do realize that your threats have no bearing on us then why do you make them? Are you just being mean?

Actually, it does have an effect.

a) it annoys us.
b) it turns us off.

But, you are correct, it has NO POSITIVE IMPACT on us. We are not afraid of hell.

I think the people that threaten with hell should have no place speaking about God's love. Yes, I do believe there is a hell, but if I go around telling people that they are going to burn in hell, people are getting the wrong impression of God's love. God set up hell as a place for those that reject Christ and his true message. If you choose to accept that punishment, either knowingly or not, that is your business. With the knowledge of the possibility of hell, whether you accept it or not now you are held accountable. You can never say that you never knew.

We Christians are not threatening you. we are just telling you about what we believe is the truth. As a Christian, we believe in hell because we know that there is a God who will put us there if we do not accept His only son as a personal Christ and Savior... if you would like to know what hell is like, try to boil water, while it is boiling, put your hand in it... if you can take the heat for at least one or two minutes, then you can go ahead and don't believe in hell, but if you can't take the heat, think of it, that in hell, it will be much very hotter than the boiling water... and it is not only your hand that will be burned but all of you...

Dear Son of Mogh....I'm sorry you see it as being threatened. I realize that you don't believe. That does make it frustrating for me. However, Jesus told those who would be his followers to tell the world about him and to share all things that he said. That's what we try to do, and obviously it's not well received. Many people in the Rand S section do come on very strong, and many times that's not well received.
Please realize that Christians talk about topics like hell sometimes because Jesus did.

Thin skin for the Son of Mogh Klingon Warrior! Hopefully U were also given the "Gospel" & it is that of which U speak? We as Christians are Only to give the "Gospel Facts", which could also include information about Hell, but not threats. No need to. We believe in it & U don't. So in Our Deaths, we will find out, won't we??? John

Why would Christians threaten you with hell. I am a christian. God's Word speaks for itself. When an unbeliever dies they go to hell. There are no need for threats.

Each person will stand before God and be held accountable. Each person will answer for themself..

How are we being "mean", if you don't believe in it?

Did it ever occur to you that we already assume that most of what we say is going to have no impact at all?

We are just fulfilling our duty to spread the teachings of Jesus; what makes you think we care how anyone reacts, or not?

===edit===
Why do many atheists consider a “belief” in Hell to be a personal “threat” against them? When Christians simply state what Jesus taught, why do you think of it as a personal threat if you don’t share the same belief?

Not at all. But we have the hope that when your life is over, you won't be doomed to wander the world forever, seperated from your creator.

We tell the news, because it is something that we are asked to do, and face it, when you have an inside tip that God wants everyone to be with him, then it's selfish not to try to tell people about it.

Actually, hell is a spiritual place, where people who don't accept God will spend an eternity seperated from him. I personally mourn every person who simply rejects the news, because they don't want to believe in it.

yeah, some are just being mean
there are different types of christians just like there are different types of atheists, Hindus and janitors
Sorry you met some of the negative ones my Klingon friends.
Direct them to me and I will try to explain to them the negative impact they are having on what us other Christians are trying to do.
the human race is strange
we are cursed with diseases called individuality, freedom, and will
which have there downfalls, but if you look closer the advantages outweigh them by infinity atomic mass units
How is Warf, I haven't heard from him in a while?

A true Christian would not judge you. Looks like you have been a victim of an opinionated person who really does not follow the word of God.

With that being said...I agree with you and yes...they are being mean and trying to make themselves feel better.

If you have no belief in heaven/hell. How can talking about something that to you does not exist be a mean statement. Do you not understand that your psyche is in your control--not mine. I consider this a exchange of ideals not an accusation
