First an answer, you can grill cheese on the grill but 1) it has to be a hard cheese or one with a skin, 2) the grill has to be well oiled, 3) the fire needs to be extremely hot and 4) you want to just leave it on a few seconds a side, just long enough to scorch the grill marks into it.
Now recipes
Get whole rosemary branches and strip the leaves off, saving them for later. Sharpen one end of the branch.
Cut boneless chicken breasts or thighs into 1 1/2 " pieces. Mariante these for 1 1/2 hours in Oriental Sauce (the best one is by Yoshida) or the thick teriyaki sauce to which you have added some of the saved rosemary leaves.
Cut an onion and a coupelof bell peppers into small chunks
You also need one or two boxes of whole mushrooms
Skewer the chicken, onion, bell pepper, and musrooms onto the rosemary branches. If the branches aren't very thick use a small knife to poke a small hole in each ingredient before skewering.
Grill until done. The rosemary branch flavors the chicken from the inside and gives it a great flavor. You can also do shrimp or beef this way but I prefer the rosemary taste with the chicken.
Next, Grilled Peaches
Since peaches are in season right now these are particularly good.
In a small sauce pan combine 1/2 stick of butter or margarine with 1/4 cup of brown sugar and 1/4 cup of white sugar. Add dark rum and cinnamon to taste. Cook until syrupy but do not burn.
Cut peaches into quarters and place on well oiled hot grill. Turn after two or three minutes. When you turn the peach, brush with brown sugar mixture. Peaches are doen when soft. Can be eaten as is or served with your favorite kind of ice cream (A good vanilla or a cinnamon is my choice). This is an incredible dessert.

I love grilling.
yes you can grill fruit - peaches (a little under-ripe is good), pineapple and mango are my faves. just split the peaches and throw them on. Slice and core pineapple and put on in rings. Cut down the sides of mango and score them - cuts down and across that don't pierce the skin that form to make square or diamond shapes in the flesh. Good things for red meat marinades - bourbon, soy sauce, garlic, rosemary. beer, lime juice, and crushed garlic.
I can't find my chimichurri sauce recipe but is the best thing you could put on a steak.
veggies like peppers (clean out the seeds), summer squash, zucchini you can just slice and toss with a little oil and salt and pepper and grill maybe a minute and a half on each side. Eggplant - no oil. Peel, slice about 3/4 of an inch, and salt. let sit about forty minutes then rinse and squeeze out the water and grill dry. The salt takes out the bitter taste.

I would use an SOS pad to scour the grill grid very well, so that you get the rust off it. but it shouldn't have rusted in the first place. Those things are like the shelves in ovens and coated with a very high temp chrome. Then spray it with the oil to prevent sticking problem. Pam will work very nicely for this. My husband puts a layer of aluminum foil over the grill grid then pokes the slots out and presses the foil around the bars. Our grill is not Propane and is sort of very very old - almost 40 yr old Weber grill.

I do an Asian pork loin thing. But they have to be boneless. Just put some olive oil, dark sesame oil, hot sesame oil, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and chopped green onions in a ziplock. Add the pork and marinate. There are no amounts to this, it's all by eye and taste.
