P.S. how do snails taste? and how do you say where is the restroom, i have been taking a french class...but the teacher teaches in french so you can't really understand.

Paris and Provençe (southern France) were my favorites. I enjoyed riding the TGV from Paris to Bordeaux and from Lyon to Paris. By all means go up the Eiffel Tower, visit Montmartre and the Louvre. You're probably too young to appreciate art, but the Musee D'Orsay has the best collection of Impressionist paintings in the world. Carcassone is a neat old walled city. I enjoyed the Brasserie Bofinger for dinner in Paris, but there are many excellent less expensive places. Anywhere in Provençe is a good place to eat. Skip the Leon de Lyon. Too expensive. Snails taste like tough chicken. Ask "Ou est la toilette?"

Review your French, especially words for food, so you can order in a restaurant. There is some anti-Americanism there, but I found most French to be helpful and friendly, especially if you approached them with courtesy.

You should go to Paris, Versaille (Marie Antoinette) castle, see the eiffle tower, Louvre (famous paintings are on display here, such as the Mona Lisa and the movie The DaVinci Code is set here in the beginning. Notre Dame is another place to go. You can buy a french translation travel book for help with simple phrases. Have fun, I am jealous! :o)
