I find it odd that the same people who cried for justice after september 11th seem to have forgotten the whole reason for the war on terrorism. There use to be sayings such as "United we stand", "God bless America" and "love it or leave it" on every grocery store and tavern sign. Now we have people marching on the capital protesting the war. It's as if we've forgotten sitting in front of the t.v. sets that Tuesday morning and watching our country being attacked by a bunch of cowardly b*****ds. Have we forgotten the roar of the crumbeling towers? The smoke rising from the Pentagon? The smoldering ashes of flight 93? The hundreds of Americans whose innocent blood was shed so that the terrorist could make a statement! Those same ones who chanted USA and demanded for war now back out on their president and leave him standing alone. They criticize him and claim that he is the reason so many of our soldiers have died. Have we forgotten?

I realize many folks have stated that the war in Iraq has nothing to do with the war on terrorist, but that is wrong. The war on terrorist is against those who take advantage of other's that cannot defend themselves. Terrorist are cowards who preform a hit and run attack or prey on woman and children. Which is exactly what Suddam did! Yes I agree that we should go after Osama bin Laden, but the damn coward is out there hiding like a baby. We are the most powerful nation in the world at this time, and are we to stand by and watch as hundreds of Iraqis are slaughtered and allow that to happen just because we don't want to get involved. Those soldiers are proud of what they have done in Iraq. If folks would stop watching the news and start hearing the accurate testimonies of the soldiers then you would see that they do not see their fight as hopeless and causless. They believe in what they are doing and America should believe in them.

Thank you so much for your powerful statement and question! I will never forget that day when a handful of suicide bombers came into our country and destroyed so many lives and the peace of our great nation. People seem to forget that day, how we all felt and cried together and banded together as a country. The congress, both democrats and republicans called for war and now they stand back and point the finger at the president. Without our war on terror, we would have already been hit again. Just recently another bombing of New York and the underground gas lines was stopped because of our vigilance. People seem to forget that it was Saddam Hussein who slaughtered hundreds of thousands of his own people. I am a veteran of the Gulf war. I have been there and seen in person what those monsters are capable of. I still say God Bless America and love it or leave it. Those who think we are the evil country need to go and put their lives in the hands of a Dictator for a while and see how lucky and blessed they are to live in our great country! Thanks again for remembering, speaking up and being a patriot!

No one has forgotten September 11th! The Iraq war had nothing to do with September 11th. That's why we are protesting the war.
This country was founded by people standing up and saying what they believe. I love this country as much as any conservative person out there and I'm ready to die for it and support and admire those who are doing just that in Iraq right now. But nothing good and a whole lot thats bad has come from this war. Maybe some of us think there are better ways to fight terrorism than giving the terrorists a recruiting strategy.

It should never be forgotten. It was a day when the world of civilisation stood firm and united against barbarism (note: I'm sure all true Moslems agree that terrorism is evil)
However, I am surprised how little we have questioned the fact that that airplane actually travelled miles into US airspace without any action used against it or any warning issued to anywhere. I am also amazed at the fact that we attacked Iraq and they had nothing to do with 9/11. I think the tragedy led to some people exploiting it for oil and cash - the evil people of today!

I pray for all those who died in the 9/11 attacks. New Yorkers who were at work, whether as bankers, or as janitors. Visitors to the building. American Christians, Jews, Muslims, Atheists, Pagans and all others, regardless of belief, killed by those Saudi terrorists that sad day. May whatever power that is bring them peace.

We haven't forgotten. However, Iraq has NOTHING to do with 9/11. I agree with the war in Afghanistan. We should be there. The Taliban DID harbor terrorists. We should be there looking for them. However, Saddam Hussein didn't harbor terrorists. NOW there are terrorists in Iraq. Of course people are going to want to kill the people occupying their country.

The president is not and never has been fighting for freedom. He's been oppressing people at home and abroad since he got into office and will continue to do so until he is out. Having a "they hurt us, so we have to hurt them worse" kind of attitude is not healthy.

We are less free than we have been in a long time because people like you listen to propaganda and jump on the follow the president bandwagon without thinking about what freedom really is. Freedom is not having restrictions imposed on you. Freedom is not having the government spy on you. Freedom is not being censored.

Terrorists aren't being eliminated right now because of our government's actions, they're being created. They rise out of the discontent from our meddling in their affairs.

The 9-11-01 attacks were tragic, but far more lives have been lost and are still being lost every day because of this stupid war. That is what most of us are concentrating our thoughts on, and that is what you should be worrying about instead of dwelling on the past.

Don't argue your way into something that you obviously have no clue about. We won't forget what happened that day, but a lot of middle america rednecks have it in their heads that the war has something to do with 9/11. It's a bunch of crap. Read up and get smart, honey.

Yes, a lot of people have. Many say that they protest the war in Iraq because it had nothing to do with 9/11. I guess they just want us to go after terrorists that caused 9/11....that wouldn't lead us anywhere, because they are all dead.

There are so many terrorists out there that want to destroy America. I know that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11...but there are terrorists in Iraq that want to see the destruction of America and Israel. If we leave, we will turn Iraq into a terrorist country, and if that happens, terrorists all over the world will see that it is possible to win, and they will feel invincible.

The war in Iraq has nothing to do with 9/11.
The "War on terror" is a sham.
The people protesting the war are the true patriots.
The people supporting Bush are the enemy. He is a terrorist, and is responsible for more American deaths than Bin Laden.

of course i haven't forgotten, i haven't forgotten so many things in our history that has affected this world. 9/11 was not the only tragedy that has affected the USA. there are so many and people want to forget MOST of them ever happened, but they did happen, so people just need to face the world we live in. its a scary world and as long as there are evil people in this world, evil things are going to happen - it is unfortunate for us that the world is the way that it is.
