Does anyone know what the going rate is for babysitting an 8 year old in Florida? I am a care giver now and I work through a company, but I have a friend that wants to know if I want to babysit his 8 year old little girl. He said that he is going to pay me, but I don't have any idea what to charge.

I pay our nanny a flat day rate. That keeps us both protected, I never end up paying a ridiculous amount of money, and she never gets jipped if her hours are for some reason cut short. At that age, you are really there to make sure she doesn't hurt herself and to maybe cook for her. My nanny gets $75/day for my 7 year old girl. She comes 3 days per week, my daughter bathes and dresses herself, cleans up after herself, and the nanny does laundry, does light housework (very light), and she usually takes her swimming and does some sort of craft with her. I hope this helps!
