whole milk at 1 year babies should have formula for the extra vitamins until they are at least 1 year. I did this because everything I read and all my advise from there doctors said this is the best time.

Follow your pediatricians advice. However, generally after the 12 month check-up is when most pediatricians suggest you switch to milk. It's imperative to make sure your child does not have a milk allergy or is lactose intolerant. Even if they have been ok on regular formula, milk is different and they could have a reaction. Also, if you can do it I suggest using Organic whole milk. The cows are not fed full of antibiotics or growth hormone, which may be a cause of childrens early maturation. Good luck.

You should give your baby cows milk when hes 1. The difference I saw in my niece is that you have to feed her solids 3 times a day like a normal person because the milk will not fill her up. You should give him whole milk.

My dd would spit the formula out and refuse her bottle at 8.5 months. I called her ped and thankfully, she ate table foods really really well, so the ped said to put her on cow's milk. She is 5 now and has had zero problems

My ds 'stole' his sister's sippy cup of milk when he was about 9-10 mths and drank the whole thing. So, he got about 4 oz a day until he turned a year old.

You are supposed to give them cow's milk at 12 months. I never could give my children cow's milk at 12 months though, they had allergies to it and stayed on formula a little bit longer and then I ended up giving them lactose free milk. Now that they are getting older they can drink some regular milk but if they drink too much it upsets their stomachs.

My oldest I was still breastfeeding quite frequently, so we didn't start cows milk. By the time we tried to start giving it to him, he wouldn't drink it (he was around 18 months). He still won't drink it and he's 6. My middle one, we started at 12 months and he loves milk. My baby, we started around 9 months, and she loves her milk too. I haven't noticed any growth changes from that, though.

We waited a year with my son. And it had no growth stunting or adding effects. He's in the 90th percentile in height, he's four but looks like he's six...but he was born big to begin with.

10 months with my daughter, she had a virus and came off formula for 2 days and wouldn't go back on.

1 yr with my son, formula for the first year is imperative. They don't get much nutrition from solids when they are learning to eat.

Good luck!
