This is a spirtitual group Iv'e been with for over a year, Recentley a few members i'dd say 4,or 5 within the group, were saying things like "get a clue" ,or your not a true (my religion), because you asked this question. They seem to get pretty hot, and insulting any time I post now, I have a feeling its because I gave somone my honest opinion earlier that week, and some members didn't share my views. Should I break away from the group? Would this seem pety to you?

I would confront them straight out and at the same time as everyone else what they think also, you should have the right to ask questions and get answers not insults. Get their feedback and if you still feel the same as you do now, dump them.

If they are just a small percentage and the group doesn't generally follow them, don't let them chase you away. Simply say that you have a right to your opinion and negative comments are not constructive.
If you feel you don't go along with the group as a whole, leave and find another group. If they are close-minded to the point of personal attack, you aren't going to make any headway.

do you think that in a healthy group every one is going to agree on everything all the time? NO! It is the nature of man that each has a valid and differing opinion and perception. It is our challenge to learn to approve each person for their opinion without accepting the opinion itself. So run away from disagreement if you want, but you will find yourself running for the rest of your life...it becomes a habit after a bit.

Only break the group if you feel uncomfortable or just are unable to tolerate their behavior. I was cast out of my group of friends because of My religion. Im sorry you are being insulted.

This is the nature of 'spiritual' people. Everything is fine as long as you think and act EXACTLY the way they do. The moment you want think for yourself (have an opinion) then you are not a 'true' whatever and they force you out.

I had the same experience joining a prayer group (I was invited to), which turned out to be a Democrat bashing group. I immediately left and blocked them from reaching me.
Get away from them, you're better than that and you wanting to get away proves it.
Run, don't walk.

If the situation is too stressful you should leave. Life is to short to worry about being petty. Just enjoy yourself and find some friends you can talk to without getting your feelings hurt.

If you're so thin-skinned that you can't read the posts from a bunch of net-nerds and just say to yourself, "Consider the source" before simply moving on, then I'd say yes -- both you and the Internet will be better off without your continued presence here....

Yes, you should break away. If they are not open minded enough to accept you and your viewpoints then I'd dump 'em. Now, you're worried about pleasing someone other than yourself. Are you going to let them sway your beliefs? That just doesn't seem right.

I would let them know that they are being very unkind to you. Yes, they are being petty. I would leave and find a nicer group of people, and I would tell them why you are leaving. You deserve to be with people who will uplift you rather than trying to tear you down.
