Usually by the third marriage, gifts are inappropritate because both people involved are older and have everything they need.
Don't go overboard on the gift ; maybe a nice set of candles, napkins and napkin rings, etc.. You could go to a place like Bed, Bath, and Beyond or Pier One is loaded with nice gift ideas.

I would first ask if you got an announcement, or an invitation. If the answer is no, then you are not obligated in any way except love to give them a gift. Technically, you are not obligated at all, even if you recieved official notification.
The old rules were that a second or third marriage for either partner, did not necessarily get a big wedding with a reception, and bunches of gifts.-it was just done quietly, with a few family or close friends, just a preacher or a JP. Sounds like that is maybe what they did.
If your heart tells you to, get a gift, but a card with congratulations would be just fine.

After a third marriage they shouldn't really need anything. I would think they are at the point of needing to have a yard sale. I would send a card with your congratulations and leave it at that, especially if you have given her gifts 2 other times.

I would just send a card. If you want to give a gift card in a small amount, that would be fine too. I would not expect any gifts if I had been married twice before.

Tickets to dinner and a movie? A favorite bookstore gift certificate? A gift certificate to a mall near them that can be used at any of the stores in the mall?

Maybe just a congratulatory card and perhaps a gift card to a restaurant.

Third marriage? I'd only give a card.
