Think about that. I know most atheists, and nonchristians, will say that christians believe in tales, etc.... but is that true? If you truly search for answers, is this true? If God wanted to communicate with mankind, then how would he do it? How would you do it if you were God? Maybe send someone down to earth (i.e. Jesus Christ), and provide certain manuscripts to follow, etc.? Atheists beleive they are more rational and logical, but in all actuality, Christianity is very rational and very logical, more-so than atheism. One reason for this is that Christianity answers questions that atheists can't. For instance, you can use all the theories for the beginning of time.. you can talk about the big bang, etc.. but it all still points to a starting point, some type of transcendant being -> God.

Besides using logic and reason, Christianity has other forms of evidence to validate its claims. Atheism doesn't, nor do other belief systems (not to soley pick on atheists). Comments?

Christianity has no evidence whatsoever to back up its claims.
Unless you believe that the bible is true purely because it says it is.
Evolution is a proven fact, creationism is mythology.
I will retract that statement if you can show me otherwise with documented fact

Qualifier: I'm NOT an atheist.

Your reasoning is flawed. You assume that because you can't understand why there can't be a creator at the beginning of time that there HAS to be a creator. This is HUMAN opinion, not one of pure logic.

Further, you say that Christianity is "logical". Do you truly believe that it is logical that because some guy (or gal) says a few words that a wafer and some wine actually turn into the physical body and blood of Jesus? Do you think that the Romans would allow a crucifixion to be taken down from the cross and buried? They didn't. Jesus would have been left to decay on the cross because the Romans used crucifixion as a way of letting the Israelites know that if you mess with the Empire you will suffer the consequences. Therefore, Jesus would not have been buried, and thus could never have risen from the grave.

As to the "evidence" you claim, ALL of the statements about Jesus existence occur AFTER Jesus' lifetime, not during it. There is ZERO first-hand evidence of Jesus ever having existed in the first place. This doesn't mean that there never was a person named "Jesus", but as "evidence" second-hand accounts do NOT qualify.

The "last straw" however is the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D., where it was decided by comittee that Jesus actually WAS "God". Before that Jesus was honored as a prophet, but NEVER worshipped as God. This means that for approximately 325 years, Jesus was NOT considered to be God. Most Christians are completely unaware of this aspect of the history of their church.

If God wanted to tell us all about his existence, why not do it on a daily basis? Why only show yourself in the Middle East and not Australia, Asia, and North and South America at the same time? Why would an omnipotent God be completely illogical about spreading the message of his existence? This makes NO sense. There is a lot more, but if it comes to pure reasoning, Christianity loses.

I believe that "God" is the natural universe, not a supernatural entity. That is infinitely more logical to me than believing something that history proves to me is at best, inaccurate.

To answer the more interesting part of your question:

If I were God, I would not have allowed a discrepancy between my story of creation and how it happened.

I would not have ignored the bulk of civilizations for most of history, especially not to the point where they needed to be judged.

I would have made the choice about following me just that, i.e. if you want to commune with me great, if not no problem, after all I want companions not robots, but I don't need to punish the free thinkers (Oh yeah, I wouldn't have allowed sin to be introduced to muddy the waters).

I would have ensured that my dealings with humanity were consistent.

After spending the time to create the universe so it worked, I would have spent a bit more time "intelligently designing" humans so that they didn't have all the markings of evolution.

Your statement: "Besides using logic and reason, Christianity has other forms of evidence to validate its claims. Atheism doesn't, nor do other belief systems" falls flat. There is no evidence for any of the major events in the Bible. There are no contemporary collaborations of any of the miracles recorded in it. There is nothing logical or reasonable about Christianity. Granted, some of it's teachings are good i.e. the golden rule, but similar teaching are found in many of the major religions.

Sentence 1:
By definition, no. Look up the word 'faith' in a dictionary.

Sentence 2-3:
Do you think Muslims believe in tales? Think about that.

Sentence 4:
Observing the evidence and following where it leads is looking for answers. Blindly believing everything you read in a holy book and selectively ignoring any scientific evidence that does not support your predetermined beliefs is not.

Sentence 5-7:
I'd probably just tell everyone I was there. Job done.

Sentence 8:
There is nothing rational about believing something without evidence.

Sentence 9:
Making something up to fill in a blank is not providing an answer.

Sentence 10:
Please explain how you came to this conclusion.

Sentence 11:
Rule of thumb: if you do not use logic or reason to validate a claim, chances are, it is not valid.

Sentence 12:
There is no scientific evidence to support the claims made by Christianity. Atheism is not a belief system. It is a lack of belief in a deity. That's all it is. Please understand this.

Christianity is a Religion, and ALL Religions are BELIEF systems. So is EGO. Religion is what we Believe about God, Ego is what we Believe about OURSELF.

The problem I have with Beliefs (even my own!) is that we DON'T KNOW whether they are TRUTH or not, which means we are IGNORANT of their validity, but we choose to accept them as valid anyway, based entirely on "Faith" instead of EVIDENCE!

The problem I have with Faith is that the more of it we have, the less effort we will expend searching for TRUTH, because we Believe we already have it! All we actually have is our Ignorance, and our Faith in it!

Logic and reason are great tools to use in our efforts to RATIONALIZE our Beliefs; would they not be much more useful if we were using them to Search for TRUTH (Knowledge!)? To me, True Growth is growth of KNOWLEDGE. Growth of Beliefs LIMIT us! I Live my Life according to my personnal motto: You can BELIEVE anything; You can only KNOW Truth!

Your question does a great job of expressing your BELIEFS about God and what you think of the Beliefs of others; would you care to share what you actually KNOW about God, and the evidence that provided that Knowledge?

Look... Being an atheist is not a religion. Atheism means you don't believe in religion and God(s).

Faith means believing in something you cannot see, and that you cannot prove exists.

Atheist do not believe in God or any religion therefore do not need faith or have any faith.

Christianity does not have anything to validate it's claims. I challenge you to produce such evidence. Just for the record the bible does not serve as evidence for itself.

You are delusional but nice try.

It takes faith to be a Christian, not to be an atheist. Christians base their belief on a book that is supposedly the word of God. However, there is no evidence for any sort of supernatural being. It does not take faith to NOT believe in something.

"Truth does not demand belief. Scientists do not join hands every Sunday, singing, yes, gravity is real! I will have faith! I will be strong! I believe in my heart that what goes up, up, up must come down, down. down. Amen! If they did, we would think they were pretty insecure about it." Dan Barker, atheist, formerly a Christian minister

a lot of human beings have awareness yet lack faith and know-how to hire that awareness. No Atheist is extra powerful than any Christians and no Christian is extra powerful than any Atheist. we are able to all learn some thing or different from one yet another.

I guess I can't argue with the "very rational and very logical" idea of a man being able to part the Red Sea or receive enlightenment from a burning bush.

Okay... I thought faith was a Christian virtue that could only be given to the believer by the holy spirit. Yet here you are suggesting that atheists have more of it than you do.
