i'm loosing weight at a sensible rate - have joined weight watchers and the gym. have about 3 stones to loose.
what is the best way to avoid excess skin. obviously i know there will be some but does anyone have any advise?

Drink a ton of water. Moisturize like crazy!! Also check and see if there is a spa close to you that does body wraps. They can be a bit pricey, but they really help with the appearance of the skin. Congrats and keep it up!!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

As long as you lose the weight slowly (about 1-2lbs per week) and you are exercising to tone up, I don't think you should have a problem with excess skin.

This is more likely to occur where you lose a lot of weight in a very short period of time, but losing between 1-2lbs per week is a healthy rate @ which to lose weight, and as well as helping to keep excess skin to a minimum, the weight will be more likely to stay off.

basically you cant if you are a lot over weight you will get it for sure.
If the 3 stone takes you all the way, then there is a good chance you wont get much at all. If you exercise properly twice a week you should be able to control it. Good luck

As long as you're losing it at a sensible weight, and doing some light exercise to keep you toned, you shouldn't have too much of a problem...as long as you weren't HUGE before you started, the skin is quite elastic so should cope.

You need to use Bio Oil. Use it every day, after every shower and before going to bed every night. I know a girl who used it when she was pregnant and she didnt' get any stretch marks or anything and she went back to her size 8 like she'd never been pregnant before.
It helps your sking during period of rapid change in body size such as pregnancy AND weight loss.

That a good job on the weight lose congrats, but as for the excess skin it depends on how big you were and we know that as you get bigger you skin has to expand now since your losing weight at a sensible rate your skin has to have time to expend back to its original form. But if it doesn't your have excess just hanging and that would require skin reducing surgery.

if you lose it healthily - 1-2lbs a week and exercise regularly (cardio and weight training) your skin will have time to adjust and will not be as saggy as if you lose a lot of weight in short amount of time.
weight watchers is not the best diet program - they have no structure and too little calories - so you will gain after stop doing it or as soon as your body adjusts.
also you can use cocoa butter twice a day to hydrate your skin.

to be honest the best way is not to go on a diet as ive tried them all and diet pills and they dont work lol but just change your diet and go swimming 4-5 times a week for about an hour each time it tones your tummy and all your body up wonderful too ! i lost 2 1/2 stone since may its great and i eat loads too im just eating the right foods but instead of swimming try aqua arobics its great and really fun ! great question goodluck !

Way to go on the weight loss. Unfortunately I don't think there is any way to avoid loose skin, sorry!
