We need a fence, with a wall, and concertina wire, and mines, and armed troops with orders to shoot to kill!
Secure our borders by whatever means necessary, but SECURE IT and SECURE IT NOW!

This is really an interesting question. Especially from a member that claims to do extensive research in difficult to find tomes.
First of all the drugs are intended for buyers who make profits by selling them. Who are the big money guys that can purchase kilos of cocaine? Last I heard the terrorists all had visas and were mostly from Saudi Arabia. Canada seems to have had one or two people using their border to cross into the USA. I agree that borders are international and should be respected. The amount of trade that crosses the border in both direction is so great it would affect the economies of both countries drastically so that your idea would be a no brainer. This is an economic dance performed by both countries for the benefit of those peoiple who have large investments in international corporations.

Why not both. The criminals would figure out how to mine sweep and soon have a route though the minefield. A fence would soon have holes in it. So, they would have to be continuously patrolled by border guards.
We need to drastically beef up the border guard. It's too late to try to fix this on the cheap.

It would be alot easier, more humane, and more effective to simply put those who employee illegal aliens in prison. If our government would do that illegal immigration would virtually disappear.
I am completely opposed to illegal immigration yet I do not blame the illegal aliens for coming here. If I were them I would come here too. Our government must do its job, it is at fault. If it will not then we have no hope as a nation.
While it is not singularly his fault, and while I voted for him (and will continue to vote Republican generally), Bush has gone a long long way to making this a much bigger problem than it was previous to him. Bush has done a very very poor job concerning our domestic policy, and even as to national security.

Yes! And we should use bounding mines. The anti-personnel ones that jump out of the ground and explode at a height of three feet, spraying steel ball bearings in a 100 yard radius

Absolutely not. We are not murderers and thugs. We don't want to stoop to their level of thinking. I wouldn't be opposed to guard towers and dog runs though. Because if they approach these areas, they can be given a warning to return or face being shot or having the dogs after them.

Goodness no. The Communists weren't so cruel when they set up the Berlin Wall. Of course they would have shot you for trying to climb over. Really! Do we want our country to be viewed as the current equivalent of the Communists of the 20th century? Gross! Unless you like to kill people . . . then you are twisted and need help.
