I was forced to leave a job a truly loved because I was on chemo due to having Lupus. It just so happens my job involved caring for the sick. My immune system was compromised from the Lupus and then more so from the chemo. It was a rough time. I went from being around many people to very few. But you do what you have to and pray to get well. I am no longer on chemo but it is still not recommended that I do not work around people who maybe ill.

Life is a wonderful thing. I wouldn't worry about contributing to society as being the most important asspect of your life. Enrich yourself and be satisfied with that.
You must think very highly of yourself to feel that your contributions would influence our society. For that, you must endure, just for yourself and the few around you!
I think that you are worthy, yes, truely worthy.
