If you're weight lifting, yes. First of all, I assume you mind your diet. The more muscle you have, the faster your metabolism is. Keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat, so you may not see drastic changes on the scale although you'll look more muscular. You can either lift heavy with low rep, or lift light with high rep.
If you lift heavy, your muscle will grow more and they will act as permanent fat-burner. The downside is that this method is much slower for you to lose weight, but you'll have faster metabolism in the long run.
Lifting light weights, on the other hand, is a form of cardio exercise which increases muscle endurance and stamina. You'll lose weight faster this way but you won't gain much muscle mass.
The choice is yours.

Hi, I am from Hong Kong and I am a weight-control specialist.
Please visit the following website, and you will find a lot of useful information and a lot of live examples of how we can help people lose weight healthily. (The site is in Chinese now, but the English version will be out in a month).
www.yourhealthyshape.com/shapeshake
Please add "/shapeshake" after .com as Yahoo always truncates the last few letters.
I myself lost 27 pounds in 3 months and I spent only a little money on it. I am coming over to K.L. in two weeks. If you happen to be residing in K.L., I would like to share my experience with you. If you are not residing in K.L.. that is also fine as our products are available in major cities of Malayisa also.
Please, do fill in the form at the website so that we can get to know more about your eating habits, your determination, etc, in order to help you further. If you don't know Chinese, just send me your email address so that I can send you the questionnaire in English instead.
Hope to see you soon!

it might be hard to lose weight without losing muscle if you arent incorporating aerobic activity with yout lifting.
You need to be able to do something if you want to maintain your muscle mass.
Of course, if you change your diet and stick to leaner foods in smaller quantities, your body may become leaner if you are still lifting. However, your muscle mass will decrease as well.
In order to create leaner muscle mass but losing actual pounds, you will NEED to do SOME sort of aerobic activity... what about calisthenics even? Jump roping... or climbing stairs... biking? Anything? Lots of sex???
You need SOMETHING, buddy.
good luck.

In the mood for a new hot meal? Make a huge pot of veggie bean soup, divide into two-cup containers, and store from the freezer. Before bed, place a container inside fridge, then grab it before heading out the door each morning.

Like just not running or no cardio at all? If no cardio at all I would have to say no, you need to burn calories somehow. If you do not want to run then swim, bike, play a sport but you need some cardio exercise.

It’s an age old trick but vertical stripes do stretch you out. The contrast of colour straight vertical splits your body in 50 percent.

For sandwich-lovers, use spinach or swiss chard leaves as opposed to a wrap, skip the portion of cheese, and load standing on the veggies.

Eat in front of a person rather than screen. It cuts down on mindless eating and makes you more accountable for each bite.

Yes, by walking a lot and eating sensibly.
It's possible to get fit by dancing even, if that's your thing.
