I like to put my two Budgerigars outside in the daytime for some fresh air and a change of scenery. Trouble is the summer here in the UK is quite cold this year and I was wondering how cold they can be without feeling discomfort. ( I do make sure they cannot get wet of course ! )

My rule of thumb is that if I'm cold with a long sleeve shirt (not sweat shirt) on, they're cold. I try to keep my larger birds where it is at least 60 degrees and smaller birds where it is at least 65 degrees. They can go a little colder, but all birds are different and can tolerate different temperatures. If your birds don't act cold (puffed up) they're probably fine.

Budgies require a constant temperature. Extreme changes in air temperature can prove fatal. Most budgies need a humidity level of 60 to 70% and 12 hours of daylight. Temperatures need to be adjusted slowly for Budgies. If your room/house temperature is,say,70,do not place your bird outside if it is well below that. Budgies can withstand temperatures as low as 50, provided its constant.
