I watched an excellent documentary on "Global Dimming" that showed that it was possible that developed nations(unknowingly I stress to add) caused the wide-spread famine in Africa in the 80's from polluting the atmosphere, that in turn, had a knock-on effect on regional weather patterns
do a google search or you tube and see if you can find it...it's very interesting
it's BBC Horizon, Global Dimming
edit: just to add, I'm answering this from a scientific perspective and not from any religioius views/opinions...just thought you should know, but I agree, it hasnt anything to do with sin or greed

Anthony: We live on a dying planet, and that was not according to God's perfect plan.
Jesus spoke of certain signs that would precede earth's destruction by the plagues and Armageddon. And yes, things would have been better had man not rebelled.
As God's grace is withdrawn, there will be wars and calamities that were unimaginable. Isaiah talks of the last day, drought, death, and destruction and says:
Isaiah 24:5 "The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
24:6 "Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left."
It will be worse than you can imagine, and if you have not figured it out, terrorism will be one catalyst that forces our governments to legislate a false system of religion.
The major player is revealed in a Bible code, sealed until our day. Select www.revelado.org/revealed.htm

You always need a reason to blame God!
You faound it! and posted without using brain!!
If Africa has no rain or less rain it depends on the regional conditions.
This fact was known to man through centuries and this fact was the real cause of great migerations made from this region to Asia and Europe !!
May be your early fathers would have been Africans!
You cannot blame God for your ignorance!!

You must think that Christians are pretty powerful to cause it not to rain in Africa, to cause children to perish, etc.
I have an idea for you. Why Don't YOU move to Africa and solve the problem there. You could sell all of your possessions, quit your job, move to Africa, and work towards helping the people there.

It is man's greed for wealth and power that causes children to starve and die. There's enough food and water and medicine for every single person on this planet, but Men are too greedy to give for the sake of giving... we all want something in exchange, even for our acts of kindness. There is no true selfless act any more.

In a certain sense, the world today is as it is because of man. Yes.
A great deal of the worldwide suffering could easily be alleviated by serious help from the wealthy nations. If nations dealt out as lavishly on the needy as they do on war, there would be no poor nation on earth.
Instead, everyone is only in the game for amassing wealth for themselves.
----------------
When we see that men demanded independence from God's rule and got it then it is easy to see why things are as they are!
The fact that the rebellious ones start crying foul as soon as they run into trouble their own governments cannot handle is only evidence of how deep seated their corruption goes.
As small children that break a toy and then demand the impossible from their parent, put it together again, so are these people who after having demanded self-rule blame God for not protecting them from the results of independence from God.
However, God is not unrighteous, and unloving. He has extended the hope of eternal life in a paradise for those that are willing to abandon selfish lives and serve him in faith.
Very soon, the Bible promises this whole worldwide system of independent national groups shall be destroyed in Armageddon and replaced by God's Kingdom rule installing Paradise on earth.

Overall, no. Man does not control climate - than possibly causing global warming.....so there may be something there to where mankind's ecological sins cause harm to others.
Those who would say that everything 'bad' that happens is because of fallen man - well, I kind of don't accept that.
Many times there is simply no 'why' when people die.

Dear heart, it is humankind's fault whenever any small child anywhere perishes from hunger, neglect, or abuse. It is each person's responsibly as an adult to look after all children, to make them feel safe and secure, to fill their bellies, to quench their thirst, to clothe and educate them. As an atheist, I am of the mind that we are all brothers and sisters, we are all from Africa originally, we are all responsible for each other.

at this point in human evolution death is a part of human existence...it will not always be so...and who are you to decide what choices the individual soul makes besides your own...you may not see a reason but the eternity each persons spirit just might...life is about experiences that provoke us to a more complete understanding of the divine that lives within..and death is one of those experiences in this linear time frame....in the future death itself will have no reason at all the human being will learn to take its flesh to the same level as its spirit [unlimitidness]

You have to love that about the bible and that way of thinking, you can bend and shape whatever the question is to twist it so it is not god's fault. Funny how that works.
So in other words, god does nothing. Or any good thing that happens is because of him and any bad thing that happens is the fault of man, the devil/satan.
Pardon me while I hack up my breakfast.
