I need the programs in Office 03, but I don't want to replace my XP operating system. If I intstall Office 03, will it completely change my system?

Generally no , Office is a stand alone program so shouldn't affect the O/S.
However , like most things in life , if you have important data on your drive , make sure you have a backup before you install new hardware or software - you never know.

MS-Office 2003 is an Application Package, and it cannt remove any Operating System; However Compatability Issues may rise, like it may not be installed on some editions of Windows XP (or earlier), but it can never remove an Operating System.....

in case of Windows 2000 Professional You may required to install Windows Service Pack 3 before installing MS Office 2003, as a prerequisit.........

Microsoft Office isn't an operating system in the first place. It is an office suite, that can run ONLY if you have Windows XP / Vista / 2000. So it certainly won't 'replace' your OS.

it will instatt the office suit on it word excell powerpoint ect not replace the os

NO, your current OS will actually facilitate installation of that program and any other application that you wish to install.
