Any creative outlet to honer a loved one that has past is a great way to heal the heart. Weather it be a painting, poem, or a tattoo. Look into yourself, find what would be the best way to honer her.
Keep in mind that a tattoo is permanent and that if you so decide to get it done, then go to a professional who is very skilled. The last thing you want is a bad tattoo, you don't want to associate your grandmothers love with something you hate.
I myself have a tattoos and in no way against them.

Hey!
A tattoo should always mean something to u, only then will u want it for life.
If your reason for getting this tattoo is so u feel closer to them n doing so helps u heal, then its a good idea. Let it be a symbol of happy memories n not of their loss.
Am sure they'll both love it!
Good luck!

I don't like the idea, although my husband is getting one done of his sister soon, but what can I say? It's not my body. And besides it's not my call. If you feel like that will make things easier for you to live with or move on, I say go for it.

i think its a great idea..probably because i have one haha one of my tattoos is in memory of my mom who passed away when i was 13. it doesnt matter if u are 4 or 84 when someone dies...it hurts regardless!! mine is on my lower back ..its a heart with little swirly lines comin out (its super girly lol) and connecting it to a pair of stars that have her initials in it and above it, in really pretty cursive font it says "theres no easy eay from the earth to the stars" in latin...it wasnt my first tatoo but its definitly my favorite!! pictures fade but memories and tattoos last forever!! and it doesnt remind me of her in a bad way..its not like i think about my tattoo and cry...it reminds me that i am honoring her and her memory and showing that i will never forget..i have the scars to prove it!! no matter what my tattoo will look like in 60 years...i will always love it!! good luck and im sorry about ur losses

First of all condolences on your losses...to answer your question, yes I do think it's a good idea provided you can find absolutely the right design, a lot of people who've done it said they found a great sense of closure from their tattoos. I recommend having a read at this article...

I think portrait tattoos are a beautiful way to honor people that have passed. However, not every parlor can do portraits. Ask you local shop to show you photos of their work, or recomend some clients who have had one done before taking that leap. Try Dianne, of Jack and Dianne's in Gulfport, Mississippi.

get what you want, its your body u have it the rest of your life, make sure you wont regret it in 10 years. in the case of memory tats do something beautiful that when u look at it you just say that's my grandmum and grandpap.....i have a bird for a friend that past cause he was "the bird" i like it I'm not in love with it i would like to get it altered to look better but i wont and never will regret it, its a time in your life you are marking and its a great and wonderful thing. make sure you know what you want and talk to the artist doing it get his/her idea's unique twist bc unless it planed you dont want the same tat as another do not chose one from the shop find pictures of what you want..my friend looked for almost two years b4 he decided what he wanted and had a great tat cause it was detailed and planned.. good luck, choose wisely and enjoy

Because of a tattoo being on your body it should have a special meaning to you and if your grandmother and grandfather have that special meaning to you then sure go ahead!
I got my greataunts name behind my ear (she died of breastcancer) and also my dogs name on my ancle!
SO sure, nobody but you should make that decision if it is a good idea to have a personal tattoo!!!
(I am sorry for your lost! ope you are feeling better soon)

I have one done on my right upper arm. Its of my brothers baby that passed away. I see nothing wrong with it and would do it again. I think it shows how much they really meant to you and you will all ways have it there to remember them. It helped me be able to cope with the pain of the lose of my first niece. The pain i went through was nothing like what my brother and his girl went through. But when i showed him what i did. There are few times in my life that i have seen my brother cry and this was one. And to this day i have never regretted it. I am going to add more to it. I hope you make the chose that is right for you and my hart go's out to you. Good luck with everything. I will pray that everything gets better for you. Hope your day go's better.

YES! ! ! ! Other than kid's names, or family. Love can die, Blood never does! This is the best tatt to get in my book!
Memories never change, and as long as you live, their names will be there to be seen! Doubly so if you have some good face photos and can find an artist good enough to do portraits.
If I was gonna get another tatt, a memory tatt would be it!
