Hi, for your wedding you need three readings, the first from the Old Testament and the standard choice for this for Catholics is,Genesis 2: 18-24.
The second reading should be from the Psalms and again there is a large selection, however the Song of Ruth is very appropiate here.
The third reading is usually from St.Paul and 1.Corinthians 13 is a favorite choice here.
The marriage feast at Cana is also a standard Gospel reading used in Catholic marriage, the reading you are refering to in your post is from the Gospel of John.(John 15:9-17)
I wish you all the very best for the great day.

The Gospel of St John, chapter 15, verses 7 to 12 - that is the one that ends in the way you are thinking.
It is a lovely reading, short, to the point and entirely suitable!
Have a lovely day and a blessed marriage!

Like many others I suggest 1 Corinthians 13:1-8a or John 15: 11-13 is the verse I think you were looking for. Hope you have a very happy long standing marriage.

You should talk to the persdon who'll be performing the ceremony. To make a Sacrament officially 'official', you have to choose from certain readings in the Bible. Some clergy members might bemore laid back about that, though, and will let you choose others. Before you get your heart set on a reading, make sure it is one that the person who performs the marriage is willing to do.....and if they're not willing to fudge it for you, then you might want to consider getting another person to perform the ceremony.

Marriage is contractual process not subject any authentication or regularisation by readings. It may be important to you as a ritual prevalent in catholics clergy for their personal benefits but no locus standi as far as the teachings of Christ are concerned.

There are a few at the link above. It's kind of a personal thing so I can't recommend a particular one.
Do a regular Yahoo search with "wedding readings" and you'll find more

I'm protestant, but look at the "love" chapter. 1Corinthians 13:1-.... This is the one love is patient and kind. I suggest one of the more modern translation of the Bible, such as The Living Bible for this.
