What should I say when I contact my father whom I did not see and met during my 30 years of living?

I was able to get his address and phone number after years of searching! Im preparing to call him but dont know how to handle it. please help!

does he know you exist? my brother just met his real dad last year and he is 37 now. so 37 years of not knowing him. his ex girlfriend had contacted him about 6 years ago but they never met up, but just last year the finally got in contact again. so my brother drove down to where he lived with his wife for support and went out to dinner and just talked about life and what all had gone on during the 37 years of never meeting. like the kids his dad has now, his wife, etc. so if he knows you are out there it will be easier, like it my brothers case, but if he doesnt even know you exist that may be a little harder. so when you call, just introduce yourself, and then say you know this may come as a shock or it may not, but i know you are my biological father, and i feel the time in my life as come to meet you if you are willing to do so. it should all get a little bit easier after the ice is broken. good luck!

Well without knowing why he wasn't part of your life, this is alittle hard to answer.

I would consider what you expect to get out of this and be prepared to be disappointed. Then simply call and say "Hi my name is......I am your son and I would like to buy you a cup of coffee." See what happens, good luck.

i saw the same thing in tv (in a wish-granting show in the philippines).. they didnt say much at first, just say who you are.. and ask how he is..that you've been searching for him all through these years.. and then words will come tumbling outta your mouth by then..
