You need a lawyer and quick. But first consider this:
1. Do you actually want this man in your child's life? If he gets legally connected to your child, YOU will be tied to him the rest of your life too. Is the little bit of money worth that?

2. If he lives in another country, he could kidnap your child during visitation.

3. If he did not stand by you during your pregnancy, he will not stand by your child at a later date or now. What if you died and the girl is 12. He would then get custody of her if he wanted it, NOT YOUR PARENTS or siblings. Is that what you want?

4. If he is a student, he most likely does not have money to pay child support. You may get stuck with court expenses!! At least you are NOT married, or you would have to support him too!

5. He may be able to use the child as his 'ticket' to permanent residency in Singapore. This can be both good or bad.

There is a lot to consider here. He will not need to pay child support until it is proven he is the father. As you know, the old saying is: It could be anyones...(Now with DNA this saying is rapidly disappearing.) Your lawyer will know if he has to pay back child support covering the time before paternity was established. Different areas have different laws.

I know it doesn't seem fair. Good luck to you and your daughter.

Go to a government agency that can help you or see a lawyer if you can afford one. Once this guy is out of the country, you are out of luck.

You can go to court and let the judge know that you want him to start paying child support.
