Yup, ours is a six foot tall Whirlpool fridge freezer - we ran it off an extension cable for 4 years, until we redid the kitchen.

Any device, if it plugs into a normal uk house socket, can use extension cords. Its just an extension of the plug.
However as its probably in the kitchen then make sure liquids cant come into contact with it. So dont put it near the sink or near the cooker.
Its perfectly safe as long as no liquids or food or anything else near it or can get to it.

Depends on what kind of extension cable you are using. Please check the amp needed to run the fridge. Get a extension cable from the market with the same amp. This may solve your issue.

But before plugging in the extension cable check the eclectic source of extension cable, that is it going to support the same...!
