We, the descendants of Adam and Eve, continually affirm the original sin. The original sin is the acting on the idea that we deserve to be our own god. We do this everyday. Do you invent your own purpose in life? If you do, that's usurping God.
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell
If we invent our own purpose for living, then we assume that we are god. That is the original sin.

Sin became the curse of all mankind from the day of Adam and Eve's transgression because it made God realize that man had the POTENTIAL for such misgivings. In order to be redeemed, we had to come to a knowledge of the fact we were BORN into sin, but not responsible for it through salvation. Just because Sandra's great-grandfather was a murderer doesn't make her responsible for it! It doesn't even make him responsible for it IF he were to repent with a GODLY sorrow like the Bible talks about and lives a sanctified life thereafter. We are ALL APT to sin as the Apostle Paul once said, so once we come to that understanding, we need to put all our sins down, not perform them anymore and ask forgiveness in accordance to God's salvation plan.

I used to be a christian and this was one of the things that led me to Islam. Adam and Eve sinned their own sin and it does not pass down. The Quran states that each individual is held responsible for their own actions and no one else's. In Christianity this sin is passed down to all descendents of Adam and Eve. Even to the point where in early Christianity newborn babies were considered worthy of hell if the weren't baptized. Of course people did not like this and that's where purgatory finally came in. Christianity as it is today is a religion of blood sacrifice. I don't see how people believe that God needs a blood sacrifice for sins and is not able to forgive sins merely because it is God's will to do so. How is it an act of Mercy to make one person suffer for the sins of all humanity?? I personally believe that God is so merciful that this is not needed and nothing can hold back His mercy. However, regardless of what I believe and know to be true I respect others and what they choose to believe. I pray one day that they will be guided but I will never deliberately demean what they believe. While I understand your question please be a little more respectful and God willing others will return the favor.

Since there was no one else around to record what happened, why do you think it was an apple?? Indeed, why do you think it happened at all?
Just some food for thought.

Come on, it was the fruit of The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, it was a bit more important than just some apple.
That's like saying "Money is just bits of paper, who cares if I burn it?"

If your father had done something stupid which led to his death, before you were born, then you would be deprived of your physical existence, and your birthright, and no one could ever do anything about it.
Adam sinned against God, which led to his death, and all of his offspring were deprived of the fullness of their spiritual existence, and their birthright, until it was restored through the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Lord.

That's old testament. In the new testament every man is rewarded for his own choices. What you wrote isn't what we believe.
