Just follow your heart. If you can see yourself always doing your job and you truly enjoy it - then just stick with it, why bother changing anything?

The chance to get school paid for is a good one though - opportunities like this come along rarely in life. Try and imagine yourself in the future - are you still happy in your job? Do you think you would ever regret not going to school? In what ways would having the degree make your life better? Are the risks worth it?

Think of as many pros and cons as you can - then write them down and compare. Then do whatever your gut instincts are telling you. ;-)

you need to think what is better in the long run.how much will paralegal income be what benefits will you get after grad.
right now even though you are a custodial engineer you have a contract with the school district, benefits, job security.
once you graduate you will have to try to find a new job(which may not have a starting pay you make now) . also you will be without any health benefits while going to school.
I suggest sit down and make a list of pros and cons school vs.job. also what will the job market be for a paralegal in 2 years.
sometimes sacrafice is required to fulfill a dream other times sacrafice can come back to bite you in the Butt.

Sure it's a great job for now, but there's no room for advancement. $13/hour may meet your expenses today but you'll need more money if you want to buy a house, have kids, etc. You need something that offers a career track - a future. Go to school, become a paralegal and then maybe even go to night school while you're a paralegal and go for the big bucks - a lawyer! Now THAT'S a future.

I had the same opportunity many years ago, in the medical field. After attending one University, excelling at a community college and attending one of the elite Technical institutes I was offered a medical position then attained the position of supervisor.
The pay wasn't there, not then. I had to make a choice with kids to feed.
It hurt so bad. I worked construction as a carpenter making three times the money, on the side.

I wasn't sorry in one way, I built a company that became big in the construction field and made good money but, I was never satisfied.

I would say, continue school if you can, if you can get but with the cash for now, follow your heart. Continue on with your education, see where it'll take you. Good luck.

we are in dire choose of plumbers, electricians, carpenters, watchmakers and stitching device repairmen. i'm optimistic there are others as properly, yet that's in simple terms what i'm responsive to. some day quickly we are able to pay extra in line with hour for plumbing than we do for psychiatry. My husband is interior the militia. He makes large money because of the fact he's an officer. whilst he grow to be in hardship-loose/OCS and earning an enlisted earnings, it grow to be paltry. If we have been 19 and he grow to be earning an E-4 earnings, large, yet with 2 little ones it grow to be tough. As a instructor, i could no longer even arise with the money for to artwork on an identical time as he grow to be in hardship-loose and OCS, so we made it artwork, besides the indisputable fact that it grow to be annoying! in case you connect at recent out of highschool, this is large, yet you will nonetheless could earn a diploma in case you want to bypass up the pay scale quickly. Being an officer demands a school diploma.

It takes a special kind of person to be this excited about being a custodian so I think you should stick with it, i suspect you wouldn't enjoy paralegal all that much.

Why go to school for a high paying job if you already have one? If you're happy where you are then stay there.

If you have to ask whether or not to improve your station in life, then I guess you're better off pushing a broom !!! Let the scholarship go to someone who will actually benefit from it !!!
