When you say it goes out, are you talking about your knee moving? if that's the case you may have tendon and ligament problems. You have to see an orthopedic specialist if you want to continue to play basketball. The doctor can help correct the problem.

Until you see the orthopedic specialist do not do any sports , use ice packs for fifteen minutes at a time and rest. If you do any activity it's going to cause further damage.

Sounds like you could be getting Rhematoid Arthritis, which millions of people suffer from. Research is ongoing to find a cure. If so, unfortunately your joints will ache worse on damp days/nights and only relief is to take some Ibuprofen or Tynenol and try using heat to ease your joints. I have same problem and ache terrible on rainy days. Last 3 months, I've been using Lakota rub which eases the pain/burning, so I can sleep at night.

You could have torn a cartilage, it could be early arthritis and it needs to be scraped. It could be a number of things but, see your doctor. Your not going to play basketball like this, that's for sure. Put ice packs on it, take Ibuprofen for now.
