I found out that a crime was commited 3 months ago. A neighbors kids broke into my apartment and trashed the place and took items. I was under the impression that the Landlord had entered and cleaned the apartment out when he thought I was done moving out. A neighbor has recently told me that her 2 kids had entered the apartment before landlord had and that they had taken stuff and trashed the place. Can i still file charges against the kids and their Parents?

You can go down and at least talk to the police. This may scare the neighbor and her kids into not doing any more crimes like that. I would also report the mother to child services (if the kids are under 18). Sounds like she has no control over her kids. You are doing them a favor in the long run. The mother might have told the kids to look for items.
