Yes, I swear there should be a measure of honesty imposed on the answers here. At least, I think there should be. Well, uh, maybe not.

That would depend on the person. Honesty is always nice as the person who asked the question would be able to find a decent answer and solution to his/her inquiry or problem. Some people just answer with insults and others give false answer with no relation to the question at all.
If you want some form of punishment for this people who lies and insult, then better asked or write Yahoo and let them be the one to decide and take action regarding such matter.

Oh, please.
Just try to imagine how boring discussion would be with all the politicians, lawyers, marketers, statistical researchers and others who lie for a living banned.
Besides, I need to see things like Creationist Charly's 4 billion year old Misssissippi (!) disproving evolution (!?) to crack me up when I'm having a bad day.

Honesty is greatly encouraged. The FATHER OF LIES, the Devil, wants you to believe lies (False religions).
About 'imposing honesty', what do you consider lies?
Christers? Come on.
I have been in the non-believer camp. No wait, I was a believer, but another religion, the Church of Evolutionary Saints, and I got HONEST with myself, and switched to Christianity.
Imposing? So you want to kill freedom of speech because you disagree with something?
Heil Hitler!!!!!!

Hmmm, i nice idea and I see what you're driving at. However, in the religion section above all else "Truth" takes on a whole new level.
It'll fall over at the first hurdle when someones asks "is god real". The atheists will say no, the followers will say yes and they'll argue about who's right. Since methodically, they can't both be right, so one of them is lying by proxy.
Meanwhile, the agnosts like me will be sitting in a corner rocking back and forth muttering "you'll never prove it either way".........
Maybe we can employ a crap-o-meter though to purge us of downright stupid answers?

How do you determine who is deliberately lying?
I believe for the most part people who answer on this forum are honest especially when they are answering from their heart.
You may believe something is true and it isn't. This is an honest mistake.

That's a fine idea. The problem is, "truth" is often subjective. Personally, I think all religion is based on lies, but to the believers, it's all truth. I believe there are a lot of "tall tales" told around here. Since most of them are harmless, it seems counterproductive to go after everyone to verify their stories, and a bit disingenuous to contend anyone should. I'd like to think most people are telling the truth, even if it's just "their" truth.

Please...this is the "Religion & Spirituality" section. There can be no honest or truthful answers here. It's all speculation and opinion.
If you want honesty and truthfulness, I'd suggest a visit to the "Proper Care & Breeding of Toucans" section.

Honesty can be defined many ways, and the interpretation of the definition is a relative concept.
