What is your core belief?
I know many catholics who are Christian... i know many who arent
I know many lutherans who are Christian, i know many who are not.
it isnt about what church you go to, but what is your belief? do you believe that Jesus Christ is Lord of your life? that He died for YOU on that cross and wants to have a relationship with you? that he indeed LIVES so that you can live eternally in heaven after you pass from this life?
if you believe in Christ as your Savior.. you are a Christian.... the denomination doesnt matter.... for you can only belong to Christ... not a list of rules handed down by men.

Sweetie I went thru the same thing I was a lutheran at first, then I started going to nondenominational church which they were very different about beliefs and when I recieved the holy spirit in1996 my life changed and alot of the churches are religion based alot of old fashion traditions, and I asked the holy spirit for he will lead you and guide you into all truth, what you need is a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and he will lead you the rest of the way, first catholics pray to the virgin mary who cannot answer prayers Jesus says the only way to the father is thru me,2. being baptized as a baby is not scriptural you may be born in to sin but are not accountablefor what you do not know and a baby can not make the decision to accept Jesus you have to be of age to make that own decision yourself,my self I would ask the Lord were does he want you to go to church, and a christian church means being christlike follow the path of the bible that is our example I would say stay a christian and stay away from religious formalities and how can you change if you do not deal with reality I would not go any where were they are hush hush about personal issues now there is a balance to all things you dont tell your business to everyone, I hoped that helped the confusion Be Blessed Lisa

Remember the Nicene Creed? Remember the part that says, “we acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins”?
When you were baptized in the Catholic Church that was your baptism. You cannot be re-baptized at a second church or anywhere else. This makes you Catholic.
There are a lot of people that leave the Church thinking the grass is greener on the other side, but the Church is home and always will be. Our Catholic Faith is the Faith that Jesus gave to us, and we should cherish it always. These other “Christian” churches are simply someone else’s idea of what church should be.
My advice would be for you to go back to Mass. Go to confession, and go to Mass. It’s the best place for you. It’s home.
God bless and take care.

Read up on what the Catholic Church really believes by getting the Catechism of the Catholic Church and compare that to whatever the teachings were in the Protestant denomination( Cambellite Christian Church?) you went to. Look into the teachings of other groups too if you are curious.

Hi Mandy I realize how confusing this must be for you but there is hope so do not worry, first of all you are still Catholic as you were baptized as such, your second baptism is and was invalid, you can only ever recieve baptism once in your life so whoever did this was totally wrong and going against theology and scripture.
Once a Catholic alway`s a Catholic is the rule and this applies even if you change to Islam or Judaism or any other denomination of Christianity, so I hope this is now clear to you.
The question now is what will you do personally now that you know the facts? if you wish to resume your Catholic faith then you only have to speak with your Parish Priest and He will direct you back gently to your proper home.
I think it would be good for you to pray about this matter and follow your own heart.
God bless you.

religion is a personal belief and not something that can or should be forced upon you. ask yourself if you are catholic or christian, what feels right for you. just because you were forced to go to a christian church doesn't mean you have to remain christian. you have to do what makes you happy now. when you were 12 you didn't have a choice, now you do.

Your re-baptism in this Christian church is void.
You were baptized as an infant in the Catholic Church.
----Baptism is not a work of man; it is a work of Christ, an act of His grace---
Baptism leaves an indelible mark on the soul, so one may be baptized only once.
Ephesians 4:4-6
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
I would think your confusion is leading you back to the Catholic faith.
Go to the nearest parish and inquire about their RCIA class enrollment.
The next Sacrament would be your Confirmation.
May God bless you in your journey and in returning to your Catholic faith.

until you renounce the Catholic Church you are catholic - just not practicing. i would agree with those stating you are a Christian - IF you truly believe and understand your relationship with Jesus - He is our Saviour. i hope you will find a Catholic churchin your area and start going back - even if it's only to Mass and then maybe to bible study. sounds like you never made your confimration but you were able to enjoy the sacrament of the Eucharist and that is such a blessing.
look within yourself and find how you want Christ in your life. if you have questions about the Catholic Church please do not hesitate to ask. I might not have all the asnwers but - I'll try!
God Bless

The only guide to being a Christian is not a measure of church attendance or what church you attend. As they say there are no faith groups in Heaven just those who love God and Jesus.
I hate giving advice but sometime make suggestions. Find your pathway by trying a few churches from the evangelical to high church.
Remember Christ will find you the moment you start looking for Him. Oh and no one can clear this up for you. because life is a journey and making a debate about what each faith grouping believes or does not is not the way forward.

It looks like you were mature enough to decide that the christian church did not suit you, but Christian is a term that can describe anybody belonging to any Christian based religions
