When I was about 5 or 6, In the dream, I was sitting on the side of a hill, in old style clothing and cap. When all of a sudden I
could see dust and hear the clanging of metal. Seeing this I ran back to a cabin telling my Mother that they were coming.
Oh yes there was a little sister there also. We all ran into a cellar(I'm from Fl. no cellars) It was the Union Army, could hear that metal clanging, soldiers screaming and yelling, the Cabin's on fire and the floor joist(Logs) come falling in on the three of us.(that's it)

Yes, I get the "I've done this before" or dreamed this before, thing quite regular.
My kids don't seem to have these things
happen, but my 5 yr. old G'son is forever
asking me,(I'm raising him) PAPA, remember when I drowned? I don't make a big deal out of it but "I listen"
YRS. ago upon telling my Mom about my repetitive dream,"She just broke-down and cried,"Wouldn' tell me WHY?
Think maybe this is a little inherited ?

Yes. When I was very young (age 5-9 or so), I had several dreams that took place on a ship in the early part of the century. I was definitely "me" in the dreams, but "I" had another name and was very different - a poor, young adult woman, wearing a long dark skirt. There were things in the dream that I had NO way of knowing about. "I" eventually drowned. Many years later, I recognized some images in a book about the Titanic, and to this day, the subject always makes me nauseous and dizzy, plus I HATE to have my head underwater, so it makes me wonder if I was a passenger on it in a past life.
In another (unrelated) dream, "I" was a young boy of about 8-9 years on a city street, also in the early 1900's. This time, "I" was hit by a horse and buggy or a car.
I frequently have dreams that come true, but I am always the real me in those, and they are usually ordinary things that could conceivably happen in the course of my work or personal life. I always dream about my mother's car accidents a day or so before they happen, and I have dreamed about the deaths of three people at the time they died.

When I was little I started having dreams on rare occasions of things in my future.
Nothing life-altering, just things like going to a certain place I'd never heard of or been before, then a few days later my parents would bring me to the exact place I dreamed about.
Another was about playing with my aunt with a toy I didn't have, some non-descript little plastic twirling thing, and a few days later my aunt came over and gave me the same toy and I'd be playing with it with her and she'd say the same exact thing I dreamed. It was nothing I'd ever seen or asked for or that was advertised, just one of those dime store generic things.
At first I'd get really scared when I realized I had "seen" this scene in my dream, but it became pretty natural to me after a while.
I don't do it as much any more... mainly because I am a work-at-home homeschooling mom w/3 kids, so I'm almost always sleep deprived and when I sleep, I sleep too deeply to remember my dreams anymore. I wonder if it'll happen again when my kids are older and I'm more well rested, lol.
I think dreams, our brains enter into states of consciousness that we can have psychic experiences, maybe past lives or the future or even something going on somewhere else with someone we know. These are usually harder to recall than dreams, I think, but it happens.

Yes, I have. But it only lasted about 2 seconds, even though it was exactly as I dreamt it. (When it actually happened, everything just went slightly dark, like all the colors became blackish. Freaky.)
Edit: MSB - Yea, mine were so similar to yours! Like the words that they're speaking, the motions of their hand, all exactly the same! The clothing, the posture, everything was in perfect detail. I didn't get scared. I thought it was pretty darn awesome ;)
Edit 2: I sadly get less than 7 hours of sleep nowadays.. I usually needed around 9+ hours of sleep, when going to sleep at 9:30-10... Now I go to be from 2-5 in the morning.. (Hurray for summer and not having to work..)

Neat dream.
Once when I was living in NYC I dreamed that I was working underground on the subway. A small group of us were working on this one area when suddenly a train came through and nearly hit us! Then I woke up. I wasn't a subway worker but took the subway every morning so I really didn't think much of it.
Then on my way to work I picked up the newspaper and on the front page was a headline that read "Five men nearly killed last night working on subway after dispatcher accidentally lets a train go through."

The subconscious mind often has access to Jung's universal collective unconscious, so it can tap into such things as past lives and events, and other psychic information like OOBEs - and even ADCs (communicating with the those who have passed over in general, and your deceased relatives in particular. )
You can enhance these gifts by paying attention to them and record them in a journal if possible, and by learning how to cultivate them further through study...
